    "Spam Comments"

What should we do on members giving spam negative comments on a rather good website? I'm a long time user of friendster.com, 4 years now, and I never had any problems on adwares while surfing on the site everyday. Nonetheless, someone is giving so many negative comments about the website, one of his comments says that there is a law being pass on our country banning the site on all ISPs, which is totally absurd.

    Re: Spam comments

You should flag them for review. Users have right to an opinion, but spam and clearly false statements will be deleted.

    Couldn't find that one comment, but . . .

I couldn't find that comment where someone said "there is a law being pass on our country banning the site on all ISPs", so maybe it was deleted by the WOT folks.

But I definitely see what your saying about negative comments. Curiously, all the negative comments were made on the same days. . . 12/6/2008 and 12/17/2008 That may not be unusual but it certainly looks suspicious to me. Maybe our resident detective, wehaveitall, will sort it out.

Still, the site is green anyway. It;s just that grouping of negative comments that looks suspicious. As Sami said, you might consider flagging them if you think they're bogus.

Some flagged comments with nothing but insane rambling were removed.

The date is updated when someone agrees with the comment. I'm sure there is a good reason for that, but I'm not sure what it is...

I think this is because site content changes permanently. If a comment about phishing is one year old the site might be owned by someone else today and be completely different. But if the comment has been confirmed a day ago, it is likely that the site is still phishing.
