RE: Does WOT Work With Other Browsers
You can suggest that they make WOT compatible here. http://feedback.blackbirdhome.com/forums/6401-gene...

RE: Does WOT Work With Other Browsers
WOT currently works with
Internet Explorer
Firefox
as well as SeaMonkeyChrome
Opera
Safari
If I recall it is (was ?) incorporated into a browser popular in India, though I can't recall the name, or if WOT is still "built-in."

RE: Does WOT Work With Other Browsers
"it is (was ?) incorporated into a browser popular in India, though I can't recall the name..."I can't recall the name off-hand either but I do recall that it used a version of Firefox, so the WOT addon should be compatible even if it isn't still built in. [Edit: the browser package is called Epic and can be read about here.]
The Blackbird browser is based on Mozilla browsers so it should be possible to get the WOT addon to work with the browser.
As a side note, I wonder why African-Americans feel the need for a specific browser of their own? It just smacks of the perpetuation of racism.

"http://www.whitebirdbrowser.com/"I do wonder if Americans actually want to get beyond the racism that has dogged their society for so long.

RE: Does WOT Work With Other Browsers
Blackbird is not "own our" browser. It is simply a browser created by black folks who would like to see our stories included.

The "perpetual racism" would be the omittance of things related to being black being pushed to the side. In that regard EVERY browser is a "Whitebird". That's alright, it is up to us to tell our own story and our story does not begin or end with Oprah WInfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, Kanye West, Beyonce, President Obama, Jay Z, Puff Daddy or Lil Kim. I mention these people because these seem to be the only black people every mentioned when I open up my browser. If names such as Haile Gerima, Bill Duke, Julie Dash, Randall Robinson, Ralph WIley, Michael Franti, Booker T Jones, Gil Scott-Heron or even Harry Belafonte aren't known to black people (and people in general) then you would know why some of us would want to see something dedicated to black folks.

RE: Does WOT Work With Other Browsers
"Blackbird...a browser created by black folks..."The Blackbird browser is based on the Firefox browser.
Was Firefox created by "black folks", or is Firefox a multi-ethnic and multicultural collaboration? Why not just use Firefox and resist turning software into expressions of race or ethnicity?
The Indian Epic browser previously mentioned has its basis in language rather than race, ethnicity, or culture, and I could understand the need for a similar type of browser for Africa, which has the sort of linguistic diversity as that being addressed by the Epic browser. There is no such linguistic diversity that could apply to African-Americans, who overwhelmingly speak English (albeit American English).

"...being black..."You could try being human for a change. You never know, you might even get to like being human rather than racially stereotyping yourself and others.
"...EVERY browser is a "Whitebird"."Utter nonsense.
"...these seem to be the only black people every mentioned when I open up my browser."Try widening your search parameters.
Edit: In your list of influential names you forgot to mention Thelonius Monk, Charlie Parker, Charlie Christian, Dizzie Gillespie, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, and the list goes on...

There's a thousand names I could mention. That's beyond my point. Miles beyond the point. The browser was created (no where did I say originated) so black people could tell stories pertinent to black people. End of story. The fact that other races take exception only point to the necessity for it.
Stories on other races are not omitted, they just aren't on top. Just like the stories affecting my community are not on top of Firefox, or Chrome, or Opera, or IE or Safari or any other browser. smh @ try being human. I'm not gonna dignify that any further. Thank you for your suggestions. Goodbye

RE: Does WOT Work With Other Browsers
"The browser was created (no where did I say originated)..."You have a funny idea of the definition of "created". The Blackbird browser is an adaptation of a pre-existing browser.
"...so black people could tell stories pertinent to black people...The fact that other races take exception only point to the necessity for it."You sound like you want racism to be an ongoing feature of American, and global, life. Your obvious attitude towards, "...other races..." marks you as a racist with a vested interest in maintaining the perception of the Other. If you can only find your identity in your colour/race then I pity you.
Goodbye

Does WOT Work With Other Browsers
Just downloaded the Blackbird browser. It runs great, but don't even want to search for anything there if I can't use WOT. Blackbird runs very similarly to Firefox. Even transferred a few FF add-ons on installation. Unfortunately WOT was not one of them.
I love the app, already have it installed using FF, Chrome and Opera. Heck even IE9.
Searched forum to find an answer to this but to no avail. Does Web of Trust run on Blackbird? Want to also try installing it on Avant.
