RE: Critical WOT article leads to bad reputation for frankdoerr.
I've never heard of the site, but a lot of users seem to have rated it poorly around the time the article was published. I have a feeling the poor reputation inspired the article instead of the article causing the poor reputation.
Anyway, the author doesn't appear to understand that WOT tells how you much people trust websites, which explains why some sites promoting quackery have a poor reputation even if they are perfectly safe to visit.

RE: Critical WOT article leads to bad reputation for frankdoerr.
I haven't seen the article, and don't know who the creators/owners are - but I was prompted just now to add this comment to a so-called website review.
"I thought this would be a good add-on. Then I discovered a site that is awesome and extremely trusted and it had BAD ratings. So I read how the ratings are created. Therefore I believe this is a useless site. Many, many people who could add good feedback never will - the results will be badly slanted and inaccurate as I found. I only joined to enable me to comment on this site and the obvious blunder of the other site. I am removing this add-on from Firefox, closing this account and hope I won't be harassed. Like many wanna bees, they probably have friends, family or paid employees fill up the ratings and comments "to get it going". This is so tiresome and the biggest reason why so called social media is going to be going through some MAJOR GAME CHANGING." -

RE: Critical WOT article leads to bad reputation for frankdoerr.
Then I discovered a site that is awesome and extremely trusted and it had BAD ratings.Right... and which website do you mean? You keep forgetting to tell us.
Many, many people who could add good feedback never willAlso, many people who could add bad feedback never will either. However, even though not every person in the entire world shares their opinion, ratings can still be statistically reliable.
the results will be badly slanted and inaccurate as I found.
So, based on a sample of one website, you came to the conclusion that all ratings are slanted and inaccurate? You don't think it's possible that other people simply don't trust the site or that's it's been blacklisted somewhere and abused by spammers, for example?
I am removing this add-on from Firefox, closing this account and hope I won't be harassed.Who exactly would be harassing you...? If you ask me, that sounds a bit paranoid.
Like many wanna bees, they probably have friends, family or paid employees fill up the ratings and comments "to get it going".You don't seem to be familiar with our service at all. The ratings are provided by millions of people who are not our friends, family, or paid employees. We don't need to get it going anymore, it's been going for half a decade already. If you want to learn more, you should start with the wiki FAQ.

Critical WOT article leads to bad reputation for frankdoerr.de?
I wonder where the bad reputation of h**p://www.frankdoerr.de comes from... Might it be the critical article about WOT (h**p://www.frankdoerr.de/internet/web-of-trust-wot-ein-witz-in-sachen-sicherheit-344.html)? The author of the article might be right, it seems to be easy to vote a site down you don't like...
I don't see any traps on that site or privacy leaks other than usual. And apart from one article about email spam from two nice girls looking for the big bad guy it seems to be child safe too.
