    Reputation of local Blogspot.com sites

    Hi there,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to write, but I just give it a try.
I created a Blog via Google in 2009, it's more or less a travel diary.
    here the link:
    http://werni-nz.blogspot.com
nothing was wrong with the reputation, there's no adult content, there are no download or sales offers. Just a Geovisite counter.
There was long time no ranking at all (and still there is only mine if I see that right).
Then obvious Google changed something and my Blog is shown under following address:
    http://werni-nz.blogspot.co.nz
The suffix is the common suffix in New Zealand for commercial sites (which comes from the Google/Blogspot part in the URL, I assume).
Since this time the site has the sign for bad reputation (a red ring).
To be exact, it's a mix out of "green" and "red".
Means, if I post a lonk on Facebook, I see the liknk itself marked in green, but the thumbnails in red. Same in Google search results etc.
Obvious this comes from the suffix .co.nz , which is as I mentioned the normal suffix for most web sites in NZ.
I tried to rank my site myself, but that doesn't help at all. Does someone else have similar problems?
    Cheers
    Werner

RE: Reputation of local Blogspot.com sites

I expect that numerous other blogs in New Zealand are experiencing the same inconsistency with their WOT reputation.

Then obvious Google changed something ..."\
In an indirect way, this blog's reputation is a victim of censorship, but not by WOT. First, here's what Google did:
    http://yro.slashdot.org/story/12/02/01/2012211/goo...

Second, here's what WOT says about sites having too few consistent ratings contributed by WOT users

When a subdomain does not have enough reliable ratings, it inherits the reputation of its parent domain. For example, if the parent domain's reputation is poor, it affects the subdomain's reputation as well until the subdomain has enough ratings of its own.

This is common for shared domains, such as blogspot , where a large number of websites are hosted under the same domain name. To learn more, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subdomain

Third, when the site is accessed from New Zealand as werni-nz.blogspot.co.nz, the WOT system probably sees its "parent" domain as blogspot.co.nz; but when the blog is accessed for some other places as werni-nz.blogspot.com, the WOT system still sees its parent domain as blogspot.com. The blog's rating is inconsistent because for some unfathomable reason, WOT users have rated blogspot.co.nz somewhat adversely but have rated blogspot.com very favorably.

I think that a "fair" rating could be created if enough of the blog's visitors and regular readers would rate it for WOT. Hopefully, everything will get aligned favorably and quickly.

I have a favorable impression of the blog. I have no objections to blogspot.co.nz; I currently have no opinion about Google's decision to change the parent domain; I often find censorship alarming.
