   This web site, the product umbrella site - 89n.com - and the parent company - Melon Media, melon.com.au - seem dedicated to legitimate, quality marketing communication, with special attention to spam prevention and reporting.

   These sites are well designed, informative, and functional. Although the Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and other important links do exist at the bottom of each page, their color is too pale to read.
   

   
   Upon completion of checking procedures, CheckDog displays summary results including a view of the location of the first error found on the external site. That view is misidentified as a "screen-shot". If that site employs "frame-breaker" code, it immediately replaces checkdog.com in the viewport. This tells me that the view presented in the results is a Frame which contains the actual external site constrained by CSS overflow.

   Consider the consequences if someone decided, for whatever reason, to spell-check a web site containing active malware. He would be immediately confronted with two contrasting realizations: that script-kiddies communicate poorly, but code effectively.

   Before long, some malicious coder will devise means to manipulate the parent location, checkdog.com. Attempts to neutralize a frame-breaker in a child Frame can be thwarted by dynamically modifying malformed code. Remember that if you actually do use a screen-shot image, checkdog.com may still be exposed to malicious code.

   In the three seconds during which it was visible, I noted that the spell-checker reported over 300 errors in carefully composed content. While I will not divulge the address of that content, I will suggest that checkdog.com may have difficulty with clearly written promotional phrases, titles, isolated link text in menus, and so on.

   For the above reasons, I did not rate the Vendor Reliability component on the WoT scorecard.
