Compatibility problems
Compatibility problems usually only occur in major version releases.

It automatically updates.
About a week ago, I was about to download the .exe from their main site and then I got a message asking me if I wanted to close the browser for an update of Firefox. I don't think it was a coincidence, but it was a pleasant surprise [less of my time and their bandwidth].
I'm not sure, but I think visiting their web page might be sufficient enough to get the latest version. I could be wrong, but I'm putting forth the hypothesis. -

Updating to 3.0.8 bad move
I updated to the 3.0.8 version right after it came out and within days, every time I went to visit a site, it crashed the browser and shut down. After about 2 days of constantly doing this to most of the sites I visited, I figured I better do a scan. No problems whats so ever for infections. So looked at the Mozilla site and discovered that I was not the only one having these issues. Quite a few others were having the same problem. So I figured enough was enough, I upgraded to the 3.1.0 beta version and since then, no problems. Of course that version does NOT have all the plugins available yet, but I'm sure the authors are working on it.

re: Updating to 3.0.8 bad move
Same here.
I upgraded and BOOM! not every page but most pages... BOOM!
Then I realized something, I had changed various settings in my previous FF versions via chrome.
so what I did was... downloaded a fresh install file.
create an export of my add-ons, I use Extension List Dumper (http://sogame.awardspace.com/)
Uninstall the old FF
CCleaner the old FF keys in registry.
manually remove the remaining old profile
Install FF as a "new" program
reInstall my add-ons
and have had no problems since.

Nothing changed
g7w,
I changed nothing to the settings. All I did was upgrade to the 3.0.8 version and within days it progressively kept crashing on me. It might have been a plugin that was causing it to do that, but somehow I doubt it. I've had the same plugins from previous versions and it worked fine. I'm already at version 3.1.0 beta, so I might as well stay at this version until the final comes out. Then I'll update all the plugins when they come out. I'll just have to suffer until then, to use the tools I'm so accustom to using.

Re: Nothing changed
Creating a clean Firefox profile usually solves these types of problems. I don't think anything changed in 3.0.8 that would otherwise explain the crashing.

Waiting for 3.1
3.1 is on the bring of release, it will probably be one of the best version. Though, I never had a problem with Firefox and its prior releases.
What do you guys do to kill firefox?

WOT icon disappering on FF
Hello... I'm new & still a bit lost. I'm still not very internet savvy, thus having WOT makes me feel a lot safer. However, my WOT icon keeps disappearing from my Firefox browser & I have to keep downloading it.
What did I do wrong? Would appreciate it very much if someone can help... I'm not even sure if I'm at the right place...
Thank you.

Re: WOT icon disappering on FF
Does it disappear every time you close the browser?

Yes, but
You ARE in the right place, but your post is going to be buried in this topic.
To get better attention to your issue, I would suggest that you copy your post here and then paste it into a new topic of your own.
Not saying this nastily or abrasively, but it would probably be better if you started your own thread on your problem.
There's two reasons for this:
1. You won't know if any posters making responses on this thread are addressing your issue or evilfantasy's original post, UNLESS they say who they're specifically responding to (which will confuse others if they don't). While you're issue is related, it's not the same.
2. You won't have to root through this thread for any responses specifically to you, because if you start your own, you will be the "default respondee" (and someone will likely make the same comments I have here if another poster puts their issue in your thread).
Again, please don't take this as an abrasive comment . . . just a friendly tip.

Gentle on noobs
And children and small animals, but you're none of these things, so I can be a GOM with you . . . so don't accuse me of being "nice" (there, that was with a GOM's cranky tone)

Overdose
Hey BobJam, you overdosed on the happy pills on a Friday? LOL
I agree with what you say though, this topic should have its own thread so that it doesn't get buried :-)

Appreciate it very much.
Thank you and you're right. I lost these responses. Will do as you suggested as I'm still having the same problem.
