    Avast

    Hi Paul,
Uninstall the Virgin PC Guard pack through Add / Remove, it usually uninstalls cleanly. End all active processes through Task Manager to make it easier.

Avast installation is simple and straightforward and you must register to get a free license, only takes a few minutes and it will be in your email.
When Avast is installed right click the 'a' ball in the system tray and click on About Avast, click on License Key and copy and paste it from the email.

    No problem

You're most welcome. It's easy to install Avast and once installed it will update itself four hourly on average with low resource as it monitors in the background. I use it as my main Av and had no problems with it whatsoever :-)

      Re: FYI

      Good information :-)
WinPatrol is a must have app along with the standard antimalware, AV, firewall and using a hosts file.

For those unsure about adding or changing their hosts use HostsXpert or HostsMan both of which are free and allow users to download and update their hosts.
