    Wtf...

    Hi

How do you turn off the "Loading website" page. It seems to be annoying and adds time when loading pages.

    Blocking vs. Warning

You have the block option set for at least one of the four rating categories. Go to Tools-->WOT-->Settings then "Warnings" and check that all the switches are thrown towards Warning rather than Blocking. Blocking does unfortunately currently slow down browsing a bit since it needs to check the site's rating before loading it. Note that the warning screen does not stop malware from loading onto your computer. Blocking will stop a malicious site from loading, however.

    Hope this helps.

    Blocking V. Warning

Sadly that is the case, I have to turn of Child Safety blocking now. Its slows it WAYYY to much. Hopefully a WOT update can fix this issue. :/

      Re: Blocking

There's no way to fix the issue. If you want the add-on to block access to sites before they load, it obviously needs to load the site's reputation first.

    Transferring files from infected computer.

I'm new to this forum and I would appreciate any help. I had to buy a new computer because my older one had a hard drive that was making noise, no usb functions, and a virus named GenericFakeAlert.h which no cleaner could remove or quarantine. Would transferring my pictures and music files from the old unit infect my new unit. Thank you and peace be with you!

    Use an AV

GenericFakeAlert.h commonly known Trojan with most all AV software.

On the new computer, ensure that you have an AntiVirus program installed and active. Also install MBAM

I assume that you are going to connect the hard drive as a slave drive on the new PC?
(you didn't clarify as to how you intend file transfer)

Using MBAM, scan the old drive (drive D)
Then copy folder by folder from the old drive (drive D) to the local drive (drive C) if there's a malicious file the AV will catch it.

    free software:

    MBAM - MalwareBytes AntiMalware scanner

    Avast! - Free Home edition
    Avira - Personal Free edition

There are many others, Avira has popups but works quite well, I'm satisfied with it.

      generic fake alert

I just wanted to thank you for your valuable help. It appears your advice got rid of the problem. Thank you and peace be with you! P.S. I plan to transfer using re-writable CD's.
