    Good idea!

I have actually been seeing this a lot lately, and have been rating (a few) of them for spam. But then I forgot about it, good idea to make a list.
Oh, they simply put * in a website URL so youtube's spam feature can't catch it as easily. You need to take the * out.

    14. 69HOTPORNTUBE.COM
    15. TUBEXXXTEEN.COM

I'll move all these websites to the main thread. I´m waiting for your help, guys. There are many spam sites in Youtube. Just go and search them. And remember: If you see one in your video or in any video around there, copy paste them here! (remember to delete the *, ( ), [ ] and { } )

    Spam

The best thing to do is thumbs down, mark as spam, and maybe even contact the video owner and tell them to remove the comment.

      Contacting the video owner?

Well, it´s true I can contact the video owner to delete the spam, BUT there are 10000+ videos with spam! I can´t contact with all those guys! Now, I can mark those websites as spam. But all that bunch of spamming comments? Really hard.
So the best we can do right now is to copy-paste those URLs here to rate them.

    Not getting blocked

Normally I click the WOT scorecard, rate it red, and agree to one or more comments. Most the time I don't even have to do that, rated bad by the community, automatically blocks it for me with the way I have my settings.
This one is still coming through even after me rating it red all the way down. Even went back and make a comment. Site still loads, not being blocked:badwetgirls.com. Any ideas?

      Site Rating

The site may not have a reliable enough red rating yet. Once the rating for a site is considered reliable enough then you start getting the warning or blocked screen. I've rated it down as well.

Before I go and rate them, are any of them those ChildPorn things you can get yourself in trouble with the law on . . . MysteryFCM?

Is there some sort of clearinghouse for the domains of that CP stuff?

      If you *think* there may be CP on there - don't go to the site (I can't either if there's a hint that they may contain such as it's against UK law). Instead, report them to the IWF;

..... you can't mass-rate sites, without first verifying the content of such sites - that type of rating is misleading and unfair - something WoT discourages.

            mass rate

Often for porn related sites I go to whois and either the thumbnail on whois or the seo text browser gives enough information as to wether it's porn or not.As to child porn, thankfully this kind of perversion is something I have not nor want to come accross.(G.O.M.with Honours).

            Some lists are long though...

» you can't mass-rate sites, without first verifying the content of such sites

Some lists, such as the Firetrust list of Chinese scam sites that has over 5,300 domains, are very long and the mass rating tool is useful in that situation. There's too many for some individuals to go to one by one to check before rating. The spadework has been done by others, like yourself, who I'm sure we trust. Not all of us are as well protected or have the necessary skills to deal with such things, but realise the importance of rating sites for the good of others and want to help the community as much as we can.

              ....

Unfortunately, verifying them yourself is necessary as even those such as myself are prone to mistake from time to time.

                Apologies to the community

Oh well. I apologise here and now for mass rating those 5,300+ domains as listed by Firetrust.

I don't relish the thought of deleting all of those, but it'll have to be done I guess.

              Example

I agree with you that some lists are too long to rate every single one seperately.

I try to hit a happy medium. Here's an example of how I use the mass rating tool. Let's say there's 20 domains listed. I randomly select 5 or so of those sites, visit them and investigate them. If they are all as the person said, and I only do this with experienced raters that I know (you know who you are!), then I go ahead and use the mass rating tool.

Admittedly not a perfect solution, but one that I think is fair.

And if the list is proposed by someone who does not meet my criteria of experience (I can find that out by going to their profile), then I just blow off the whole thing.

And if I'm the one who discovered the list through my own efforts (which hasn't happened so far), then obvously I trust me, and I would use the mass rating tool in that case.

Nevertheless, I did see one time that a list was mistakenly communicated as a list of bad sites. Either my random sampling would catch that, or the poster himself/herself would retract (which is what actually happened), or the site owner would post and ask for a closer look.

              So, ultimately the "system" works.

                Workable

I appreciate your suggestion, and yes, it's workable. I'm beginning to wonder if some of this should be best left for security professionals to deal with and for them to rate these sort of websites. WOT wants the community to be involved, but clearly some of it is going to be beyond their skills/understanding.

                  Learning

I'm sure a lot of folks learn as they progress . . . I know I have and I bet you have too. And the WOT system takes care of less qualified raters anyway . . . Super-Antivirus notwithstanding.

        No Idea

I have absolutely no idea if there is CP in these or not.

And in fact, now that I think of it, Porn sites already have half of the "CP" anyway, so since I don't know if they contain the other half or not, probably best to just stay away from rating them anyway (assuming you have to visit the site itself to rate it fairly, which I believe).

I really don't want to rate sites from the scorecard without seeing them first.

If, as you have said, rating is "no excuse" for going to a CP site, and just visiting a site that has CP is enough to get you in trouble with the law . . . and there's already a 50% chance that it might have CP . . . well, I guess 50% of porn sites do not contain CP, but whatever the percentage is then I don't think it's worth the risk anyway.

I think porn sites will just have to go without my ratings . . . I'm sure they'll be painted red by the braver members that are willing to take bigger risks when it comes to messing with the law. I'm too old to be going to the graybar hotel for nonsense like that.

I can see it now . . . one of my neighbors shaking his head and saying to the other "I knew that old guy was a pervert.", as they put the cuffs on me.

          ....

This is actually one of the reasons I would like to see WoT co-operate with LE, to get the CP sites rated and auto-blocked, without the users risking prosecution and being labelled (a label that cannot be gotten rid of once you have it)

    If not visiting the website...

If you don´t want to visit those websites, rate them as spam. I verified myself those websites are spammed in Youtube. And you can verify it too. So spam would be the best rating for a guy who don´t want to visit the websites. And you can say "Adult content" simply by seeing the website preview.
