Sorry for being late - no, unfortunately they did not help. I tried the files extensions already, but obviously .exe is not listed.
The registry edit page was helpful, but it already had that value. As you scroll down, this page is only for Win95/NT4/ME.
Nevermind, it'll work without warnings anyway.

re: EXE Warnings
This is not a Windows "function" but rather an Internet Settings option.
Open Internet Options (via Control Panel or from Internet Explorer -> Tools) and click the Security tab.
With the Internet zone icon highlighted, click the Custom level... button.
A list of security settings for the Internet zone will appear.
Scroll down to Miscellaneous (not Download options!)
Find the "Launching applications and unsafe files" setting
and select "Prompt (recommended)"Click OK, close the window
Click Apply to save your changes.
Reboot Windows

EXE warnings
Hello,
when you download a .exe file from the internet, Windows XP will promt you whether you are sure if you want to open it.
I have just accidentally disabled the checkbox "Always confirm opening files of this type". Does anybody know how I can re-enable it?
