    Adobe update virus??

    Hi,all. I just went to look for any updates for adobe(i know about the recent security updates)..And windows crashed,When it came back on i ran Avast anti virus and it found
    Virus Memory Dump c:\windows Dope-Hat 555. so i deleted that..Then a squared found
    Trace Registry.core guared Antivirus 2009!A2 2 infections..I googled Dope-Hat 555 and found nothing..The core guared i looked up on A2 help page. Can anybody tell me anything about Dope-Hat 555 please..and if they came from adobe??

    I googled it and found a entry at virus total.But it just said currently there is no description for this programme.Have you heard of Secunia psi.Its a programme that searches for updates for things like adobe,java etc.It saves you going to sites looking for updates.You just scan your machine and it will tell you if you need any updates and take you direct to were they are.You can leave it running all the time but I usually exit it and then just run it fortnightly.Or you can visit there site and have a scan it will tell you if any updates are needed.
    A lot of folks are calling Adobe for not being secure but I do not think it would give you a virus.(G.O.M.withHonours).

      Hi, cod head. Thanks for your reply i will look into that, as you might know this PC is(crap)it crashes when i try new programs so i will have to be carefull. I've turned off and restarted pc and done fresh scans all were clean so i will uninstall adobe and do a clean install just to see what happens tomorrow. Im watching the euro cup final in a bit...

    u should try foxit reader

    u should try foxit reader it've all the feature adobe reader have & it've new tab & run faster & use only 6.98 mb of HDD space plus u can choose to install pdf creator,editor & more for free(through the update screen)...

    btw, i choose custom install & choose not to install ask toolbar...

      Be careful

      The latest version of FoxIt will install a crapware toolbar if you're not watching closely . . . and from the information in the post linked to below, it seems as if you need to use the correct download file for the installation.

      See the post by MysteryFCM here and read that entire thread before you try this.

    Hi, BobJam and demonluo. I think im going to leave it for a while i dont really use adobe only to open the odd file that you might need to read in PDF. I will probably wait for the next update..
