Monitor?
A lot of printers put a monitor in the background to keep track of their ink levels and alert you when they're low. Is your new Kodak printer an inkjet? Photo quality and all that?
Is there an icon for the monitoring software down in the systray?

Slick . . .
Read the manual and that thing is pretty slick . . . All-in-One wise.
Are you running that thing on a wireless network?
There was an entry on page 25 of the manual under the section on wireless stuff:
"Disable your firewall or accept the firewall prompts to allow installation"Now if it is monitoring ink levels with the Kodak software on your computer, that may be alerting your firewall. I see it has a 3" LCD screen too.
Some users prefer to get the alerts on low ink levels right on the computer screen, but that LCD also monitors ink levels. And, in fact, according to the manual, the LCD blinks when the levels are getting low.
So, if you are satisfed with the monitoring and alerts on that LCD, you can disable the monitoring software from running in the background (WinPatrol can do that) on the computer.
That should stop your firewall from alerting on it.
I'm not familiar with the PC Tools firewall, but most firewalls have a setting somewhere to allow a particular program. So. if you do want to have it monitoring in the background, you'll need to tell your firewall to allow it.
This of course assumes that this "PCD" thing is coming from your Kodak software.
The only thing I can think of there is to see if the term "PCD" is used by Kodak anywhere. And look in the drivers folder for that beast too.
The manual calls their software the "Home Center", so that wouldn't convert to "PCD". If you find something that says "PCD" specifically, even a file or a folder, that would give you a comfort level, but still I'd run a few on demand scans . . . MBAM, SAS, and your antivirus . . . and maybe an online scan too.
If they all show up negative, and you've found a reference to "PCD" somewhere on your machine having to do with Kodak, I'd likely say it's the Kodak software that's prompting your firewall to give an alert.

Monitor.
Hey, BobJam Thanks for your help sorry i have been slow to reply but this
**** PC. has started crashing again (i only have to cough and its off) I agree with you it must be the printer because everything you said is spot on. I have'nt noticed the 3" monitor flash but there is a status and home center windows. i dont use wireless.I only got i little set up manual and it did'nt really say much just follow the disc. Home center and solution center both pop up when i click icon top use printer
and i allow for that session only. So do you think i should allow PCD?THANKS for your time............cheers.........p.............
