Rating Don't Appear in Search Returns

I have been through the WOT settings and tinkered with every setting in FF v3.0.10 that might have anything to do with display and still cannot get WOT to display ANY ratings/warnings/evaluations in the search returns I get from Google. I have gone so far as to intentionally do searches that will include some pretty unsavory web sites and still WOT doesn't point them out.

The WOT dropdown appears under "Tools" so I know it's installed but it shows absolutely no activity other than that despite being installed/uninstalled 3 times.

I think there is something wrong with your Firefox profile. Please create a new profile and install WOT again. See more detailed instructions at http://www.mywot.com/support/faq#profile

Please also remember to synchronize your new add-on the current profile. See instructions at http://www.mywot.com/support/faq#twocomputers

You may be correct about the profile, but since every other function of my system is working as expected, I draw the line at mucking about with profiles for the sake of one add-on. There are others that work as well without changing profiles.

      Thanks for the reply.

Are you using the Google Guest version?

    Hi m46ah30

I think it's the Wot settings. Have you tried this :
firefox / tools / wot / settings / searching - and make sure all the google
ones are ticked? Hopefully that should solve your problem.

    g7w,

I do no understand what you are asking me... I don't understand what "Google Guest" version refers to. I downloaded and installed WOT directly from the FF Addons web site.

    shazza,

All the search settings are default; everything that was ticked when I installed the addon remain so despite the fact that I don't use most of them.

    Other add-ons

There might be a conflict with other add-ons. What add-ons you have installed in the Firefox?

You could try to disable all others add-ons and then make a Google search. If WOT adds safety icons then some other add-on causing the issue.

Of course that is a possibility.

My system now contains Add/Edit Cookies, Add Cookie Opt Out, Speed Diagnostics, Colorful Tabs, Distrust, Download Status Bar, Google Notebook, IE View Lite, Java Quickstarter, No Squint, NoScript, Old Bar, Tab Mix Plus, Text Link, Tiny Menu, ToolBar Buttons, Trashmail and Unhide Passwords.

But what you're suggesting is that if I discover a conflict I choose between WOT and the add-ons with which it conflicts. Add-ons that are of no use to me do not remain in my system.

        Re: Other add-ons

That is one possibility, but not a recommended one. Once we know what add-on(s) are conflicting with WOT we and the other add-on maker could find a solution to the conflict.

    Try this

    Hey m46ah30,

NoScript is often the culprit in these kind of things.

    Try disabling it, NOTuninstalling it.

If WOT works without it, then you can try re-enabling it and add WOT to the NoScript white list. Then see if WOT works.
