    Recovery Software

    Try the following:
Undelete Plus V2.97 is FREE to download but requires a valid email:.
In the Status column if files are shown as Overwritten then you will NOT be able to recover them. When recovering files it is recommended that you recover them to an external drive or usb flash to avoid overwriting files with the same name on your hard drive. You can of course, create a New Folder on your desktop and recover all to there, which I have found to work with no loss of data elsewhere.
    Download here for free:

This is a fully functioning version for private use.

    Another is Pandora Recovery 2.0.1
A powerful free tool that provides its users an effective way to attempt recovery of permanently deleted files. It successfully handles archived, hidden, encrypted and compressed files and recovers Alternate Data Streams (ADS). It also has ability to scan drive clusters, picking up files whose MFT record has been reused by OS, damaged or recreated (it can restore files on formatted drives).

      OK

Thanks. I'll try them. What you like About Zone Alarm? Do you know a software called A-squared Free? Or a software called a Advanced Uninstaller PRO?

    @ 00lmpr88xx

ZoneAlarm is one firewall I would NOT recommend. Use PC Tools Firewall Plus or Online Armor from Tall Emu. Some users have problems with Online Armor, so I would advise PC Tools, both are free.

    Uninstaller, use Revouninstaller

A-squared is good as a standby antimalware which also has antivirus built in.
Avast, Avira or Clamwin for AV, and malwarebytes and or superantispyware for malware :-)

    Drive

Can you format the drive or is it non-existent?

      RE to Format

What? Format it? I don't think so. It's full of knowledge and one program can access it :Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software. I think the Master File Table or File System have been corrupted on it? I first think it was a virus but it seems to be a physical fault.

    Physical fault

If it's a physical fault you could have a major problem. The only answer would be to recover everything in RAW format and convert to NTFS. If it is a physical problem options are limited.

If virus is suspected scan with AV and antimalware. Online scanners also available:

    ....

Linux LiveCD (NEVER use the system you are trying to recover files from as installing or using applications on/via the hard drive you are wanting to recover stuff from, reduces the chances of the restoration being successful)

Or Restoration (freeware) (and again, I recommend using this on a second machine, by plugging the HDD you wish to recover files from, either into the machine, or into an external USB HDD casing)

    YAY! Problem SOLVED!

I tried a tool called Zero Assumption Recovery and it worked. It saved my files. It's a demo so I have to buy it.

      Re: Solved

      That's great news.
You should now ensure that you make backups of all important files so that when disaster strikes recovery is easier :-)
