Just bad....
It's one thing that they are doing what they do. BUT when anyone points out anything negative they go to unbelievable lengths to ignore the complaints. Editing/removing posts in their forum, ignoring and insulting users with irrefutable evidence, going to other peoples web sites and arguing and on and on...
They are determined to head down the rougeware path and be labeled as such by the greater antimalware community. So, more power to them!

Wow
He edited his first post. Apologized to Donna and then attacked her again in the same sentence.
(Melih) Edit: 12th July: The bloggers name is Corrine apparently and not Donna (however we still have issues with Donna for spreading lies).

Comodo has to be the company with the worst business ethics
I am afraid to say that comodo loses all my trust after this.
With such stubborn and inexperienced staff like Melih, and such rash moderators like Toggie. And if these were not bad enough already, attacking people and calling them names for exposing truths about them? It is Comodo who is in the wrong.
Comodo has lost all my trust, and they're not gonna get it back.

Conclicting business practice
Steve, you have them backpedaling. Every time they get a hold of something they think legitimizes what they have done you show them where their thinking (and technology) is wrong. Kudos to you. ;)
----------
They seem to want to have the best free firewall available. But at the same time they want to make as much money on it as they can at the users expense. You can't have it both ways.
First they need to get a PR person (with lots of technical experience) in the forums and second instruct their moderators and staff to stay away from topics which criticize Comodo and let the PR person alone deal with it. They might also consider recruiting people like Steve, Donna, Corrine and a few others to help them get it right. Paid consultants?
On second thought they need to remove a few of the moderators and instruct a few of the staff to STOP posting in the forums altogether on topics they don't fully understand to begin with. Many more people read those topics then there are who post.
After Scot’s Newsletter posting last year ( Comodo’s CEO Attacks Scot’s Newsletter Product Decision ) and what garbage the Comodo team has added to their software I am now completely through recommending their software. As I did with AVG. Thanks Comodo but I am now done with you.

Dont use
Simple folks. Do not use and or install any item from COMODO. Pass this advise along to as many people as you know and post it on as many sites as you can The URL for them needs to be bright RED! IMHO this company is a sleaze factory.
Thanks

ummm.....
LOL, I know I might get a weird look for a moment, but I will make this comment.
I recently quit working for Comodo (as a researcher for malware), after finding their products compromise systems, eventually. My computers used to have CIS on them. My main computer had it as well, and I have a lot of security modifications so I can stay safe. However, a couple of weeks ago, one computer I administrate, that had CIS, blocked the network connection to all other computer on the network and itself. Not knowing what was going on, I modify settings in my DSL panel. Then, reboot, and the network gets blocked again. Next, I uninstall CIS, the network was fine afterward.
Funny story...four days later, my main computer fell victim to their devious trap. My entire computer would freeze and not log on all the way. I look in the processes list, which CIS is auto-start when Windows loads, and CIS is taking forever to load. So, I removed CIS, and the computer was fine. No malware, just CIS.
I did not make any comments at Comodo, I just left silently. I have not returned since. If they are going to use their own technology to compromise computers, that is enough for me to say "see ya!"

Comodo and the ongoing trust saga
"Several issues were brought to light about Comodo over the past lord knows how long, and the latest incident, as with many before it, concern their SSL certs. In this case, Melih's defense is that these are DV certs, and thus do not require "validation" as to the identity of the person obtaining such - this might be the case, but when your tag line is "Creating Trust Online", your defense should NOT be to try and slag off those bringing such to light, or telling them to get in touch with someone else to get this sorted out - IT IS YOUR COMPANY, YOUR CERTIFICATES - YOUR PROBLEM!"
