Re: Fake
In the last time, I noticed over 300 fake User.
Right. Why don't you tell us all which users are fake then?
They all rate red rated website as good and comment them as very good.
Surely you know that comments have no effect on the site's reputation. Are you saying these fake users have been able to manipulate reputations? If you are, how about listing the scam sites whose reputation you believe to be incorrect?
On YouTube, MySpace and Facebook there are more and more Users
What does this have to do with WOT?
A promotion of the bad rated websites.
Especially if the sites they are promoting have a poor reputation...?
It seems that Web Of Trust will not guard us any more.
Guard you from what? How about some concrete examples instead of breathless fear mongering?

I can't find any more. It was a mistake not to tell them at the time when I've founded them. Sorry, sami.

@sami
Sorry, this was not good from me to write this text, but I've got a bit fear of these users. It's not good to write their names down, but ok, here's a little list of fake users I've founded in a few minutes after reading your reply.

Re: Users
You know, just because people disagree with you, it doesn't mean they are fake. I have no idea what netzverdienst.com is, but it seems these users are strongly opposed to its poor reputation and probably have something to do with the site. Still, they appear to be real people who have a right to voice their opinion, although it seems their combined efforts aren't enough to actually change the reputation. How does this lead to WOT not being able to protect you from scam sites?
I've been under the impression that everyone here knows that comments should be taken with a grain of salt. You simply cannot trust random people on the Internet. It doesn't matter if you are on YouTube or on our site, there are users who are either sadly misinformed or intentionally trying to fool you. That's why the add-on only cares about the reputation, which is pretty darn resistant to these types of problems.

fake users - fake profiles
Well, of couse these users aren't fakes, but I mean; there is one (or two) people who created very much profiles and rated their own website good. Comments doesn't make the raiting better, I know, but they support it.
The websites they've rated are german scam sites. And they wanted to have them green of couse, because with a poor raiting all wot users ignore this website.

Re: fake users - fake profiles
of couse these users aren't fakes
But you just called them fake...?
there is one (or two) people who created very much profiles
All the evidence we have suggests that all accounts were created by different people. Do you know something we don't?
The websites they've rated are german scam sites
Oh, that's probably why these sites have a poor reputation then. What kind of scams are they?

So what's the German word you meant to use for describing these accounts?

in german it's called
a snow-ball-system. It's the same stuff selling ebooks like Martha is doing. But I'm not aware of the content of this ebooks but I mistrust this stuff. It's about how to make much money in the internet. The users msecure is mentioning a group around a initial ebook seller who gave his followers a tip, that he as discovered WOT and there is a possibility to "recommend a site". That's what has started very massif at 11-JUL-09 that these guys gave positive votes for the sites of people who are in this circle and followers of the initiator. He seems to be active with his ebook since mid of may.

Re: in german it's called

Sounds just about right. It's not single person creating multiple accounts, it's a group of people who each have one account.

Time
In my humble opinion the "true" rating is coming up with time for these sites. This week there is rush these sites will be rated positiv with minor negatives. How does it look like in a month or two ? The situation may be change completely. Therefore we should not over react in this situations and simply observe what's going, discuss it and adapt the system if needed and as it was within the stormfront discussion.
The folowers of sites like "earning much money in the internet" are similar to belivers in a religion. You can not discuss with these peoples. They have to learn by there own. We can rise up a finger but we can not save them from there own faults.

It's not an opinion of one
It's not an opinion of one user - it's mass spamming.
For example this "fake" user on youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/user/TechGuy197He uploaded 121 videos, for example this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-jmcNxnF4cWith a link to this red rated website:
http://www.registry-clean-up.net/Now look a the comments.
And THESE user I called "fake", because they are profiles created from the website and video hoster.Scam!

Re: It's not an opinion of one

Doesn't look like it. If you have better evidence of this, then please feel free to share.
For example this "fake" user on youtube
Yes, there are spammers on YouTube.

Re: Spammers
As I've said, I have very little reason to suspect there's only one person behind these accounts. It looks like these people belong to a group of some kind and were alerted to rate the site.

WHAT? You suspect that?
WHAT? You suspect that? That's a joke. or? As you can see are all these users new and they raited all the websites from only ONE provider - during three days.
Some of them rated all websites, some only one or two. But they all disagree with the only real user who said the truth. Look at the last comment here: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/geld-verdienen.n...
This user impend with a penalty. -

Re: WHAT? You suspect that?
That's a joke. or?
We have every reason to believe these are different people.
As you can see are all these users new and they raited all the websites from only ONE provider
Yes, they have all rated the same site. Presumably they don't agree with its reputation.

Re: More users
We appear to have a different opinion of what's fake. If one person creates multiple accounts, it's safe to say those are fake. If there's a botnet that goes around creating tons of accounts, these are fake too. However, a group of people who each create an account aren't fake, even if you don't happen to agree with them.
Sure, these users probably were alerted that this site they appear to be fond of has a poor reputation and were asked to rate it. There's nothing wrong with that. People do this in real life all the time for various reasons.

It's unfair that one person
It's unfair that one person created 300 profiles and rated his website as good. In my opinion its scam.

Re: It's unfair that one person
Yes, it would be unfair for one person to create multiple accounts. Can you tell me what evidence you have to back up this claim? You also keep saying there are 300 of these accounts, but your list only had 32.

its pointless to tell you this
i saw them, but I don't report. I'm sure i have seen a least over 300, but I haven't tell you them, because ianticipate that you would not deleted them.
i have said user to you who has manipulated raitings and you haven't deleted the account. so I noticed that its pointless to tell you this

Re: its pointless to tell you this

I think we have pretty much established that these are different people who have every right to rate websites and leave comments, even if their opinions aren't very popular as evidenced by the site's reputation.

web of TRUST? Wrong name.

I've rated a website wrong
I've rated a website wrong and the user who has now deleted his account impended me and go to the german competition-central. They look at the website and said there's something wrong and I've to pay. The user said to me that if I rated any of his websites I've get another punishes.
To the trust: I want to trust everyone. When you see a yellow raiting for example, you look at the comments. And if there are 37 users who all said "Thats brilliant!" etc. I trust them - although they are only ONE or TWO who created all these accounts. Thats breach of trust and I can't trust anyone any more, because I don't know who is that.

u've to check the scorecard
u've to check the scorecard even if its green to see their popularity, reputation, comment & then decide whether to trust...
for a low popularity green site, to have too much reputation & comment is a bit suspicious unless recommended by very creditable(not scam) user from very creditable(not scam) site/forum which u trusted or else its still quite suspicious to me...
for a low popularity green site w low reputation but too much good comment from uncreditabe user is also suspicious too...
for high popularity green site, w high reputation, u've to look at the comment, if it've more bad then good comments then be-careful...
u can't any how trust the colour, popularity, reputation, comment(expecially from uncreditable user, low reputation/popularity) blindly...

You can ignore that but one
You can ignore that but one day there are more than thousand profiles only for one person who changed all the raitings. happy bithday!

Fake Raitings / Fake Users / Fake Videos etc.
Dear User of Web Of Trust,
In the last time, I noticed over 300 fake User.
They all rate red rated website as good and comment them as very good.
On YouTube, MySpace and Facebook there are more and more Users who presents hundreds of videos with advertisement for their sites.
A promotion of the bad rated websites.
It seems that Web Of Trust will not guard us any more. It will be the trap.
It's over. Nothing more to say.
