If there's a way, I haven't found it. It looks like IE 8 always allocates an extra row for third-party toolbars.
Personally, I would just turn off the Favorites bar and use the Favorites menu instead since you already have it there next to the WOT button. Like this:

Right-click on any of the toolbars on your IE, and click "unlock the toolbars" (or something like that-I may be misremembering slightly).

Found out it is already unlocked, when I try to move it, won't move.

So you unlocked it and you still can't move it? Did you drag and click on this area (see picture below):
If that doesn't work there might be a problem with your IE, and I would ask someone else to (physically) come have a look at your computer.

Something happened today to the location of the WOT icon in my IE8. It now resides in its own bar, at the upper left, just below the menu bar. It used to be in the upper right of the screen and was on another bar - the Favorites bar, I think. I read the suggestions above and unlocked the toolbars. I tried to pull the WOT icon down to the Favorites bar but with now success. Suggestions? Thanks.

I kept at it and finally got the icon on the menu bar, but at the left hand side. I guess that will do.

An IE8 glitch, IE has never handled addons very well. Chrome is much faster, but if you really do like to use IE sometimes, then I'd just mess with the settings to see if you can get the icon to no have its own bar.

yeah Wot can only be moved to the menu bar, ie does not allow any other place ...suck
The WOT icon in IE8
I unlocked the toolbars and managed to move it next to the menu (File/Edit/View/etc), but I wish there was a way I could move/merge it to the Favorites toolbar. I like a bigger browsing area and usually hide the Menu Bar. I do use Chrome and love the clean crisp interface and larger browse area, but there's just something about IE8 that makes me use it from time to time. I use very little add-ons and sometimes it's just as fast if not even faster than Chrome/Firefox.
Anyways, just a suggestion if it's at all possible.
