ThreatFire is ok, I personally think that it has far to many false positives. I found that it did not work well with my firewall Online Armor. After uninstalling it, many programs were faster and I had a lot less crashes.I would lean towards not installing it, just because I don't think it's that great of a program.

Online Armor, especially it's paid version is still no. 1 on matousec.com, but I have Vista and they don't like each other. -

No problem. :) I was just stating what I had installed on my computer. I wasn't making any recommendations for firewalls.

As far as security goes , IF you haven't been infected with the programs that you already have , I wouldn't think that you would need anymore.
What you could add is a Standalone scanner such as :
MalwareBytes' AntiMalware : http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php . Download the FREE version . Once installed , use the Update tab to update the definitions and do a "Quick" scan. It usually takes about 3 to 6 minutes the first time. You can do a "Quick" scan every second day after you have updated the definitions.
Other than this Maybe add another freebie to secure your browsers. Works for Internet Explorer and Firefox.This one works in the background and does not take any resources. I do believe that what you already have does a good job of defending your PC against the nasties of the net. I don't see a need for ThreatFire.

Thank you for tips. I know Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. It's great scanner. I also use Superantispyware. They have never found anything big and nasty so I like them even more ;)
I use to used SpywareBlaster but is seemed do anything for my computer security. And it doesn't provide protection for Google Chrome and Opera. -

I don't use it because it is a bit too aggressive. False positives...
Some people love it and some don't. It is safe however so you might just need to try it and see if it is to your liking. Just remember to investigate everything it flags if you are unsure of what it is.

Had it, used it, was not satisified with it, dumped it.
What you have is better than me, Just Avira AV.
But I do something you do not.

No false alarms whatsoever and removed all malware after reboot.
Though ThreatFire Sensitivity Level must be on 3 which is recommended.
I have installed Outpost Firewall Pro, Avira Premium WinPatrol and I don't see so far any conflicts between them or any computer slow downs because each of them are doing different job. ThreatFire just use real time behavioral analysis and defense against malware and non of my security application use behavioral defense against threats.
Anyway, I'll give this program a try and wee will see how it will be behaving. -

+ Revo Uninstaller (uninstall like normal but scan for left over registry & file/folder very accurately & then let u decide what to delete, got many useful feature like hunter mode-uninstall almost any program when u point to desktop/quicklanuch/system tray/toolbar icon, force uninstall, autorun manager & so on)
+ CCleaner (remove junk file/registry very accurately plus it've awesome cookie manager for u to keep all the wanted login cookie or remove all the unnwanted tracking cookie)
+ Task Catcher (u need serials for it to be useful, watchlist-auto restart almost any process u want & blacklist-auto kill almost any process u want)
+ Unlocker (unlock any locked file/folder for u to delete it)
+ HostsMan (manage ur host file to block all the ad/spy/malware site which include their ads/script/cookie plus u can import/export/exclude/backup/download the hostfile & so on)
+ ZonedOut (zone manager, better than IE/FF bulit-in as u can import/export/exclude in text file format but do not add too much restricted site, about 5000-6000 should do or else it'll slow down ur broswer/crash hijackthis scan)
+ HijackThis (for expert only, to see system log file for analysis)
+ HashCalc (after u get the MD5 checksum, u can search virustotal instead of uploading every single file for analysis)
+ Update Checker (to see if ur program is up to date)
+ Autoruns (show u all the autorun entry & let u disable/delete/search online, best startup manager of its kind)
+ PeerGuardian (best IP blocker, their p2p blocklist is bad but their ad & spyware blocklist is awesome)
+ Any brand of recovery/rescue discu can search through google for this software, it'll be at the top of the list for sure...

anyway, Secunia Software Inspector only scan for vulnerable program (not out-dated program that is not vulnerable) & its not as fast as Update Checker from FileHippo.com...
What is it?
The Update Checker will scan your computer for installed software, check the versions and then send this information to FileHippo.com to see if there are any newer releases. These are then neatly displayed in your browser for you to download. Please note that not all programs are supported.But it gets better...

I have Windows Vista and I have installed Outpost Pro Firewall, Avira Premium and Win Patrol. I am thinking to install ThreatFire but I am worrying that it might be too much security and might cause computer crashes.
What are your experiences with this security software?
