Hey Nick !!
Which operating system are we talking about. If it's XP then, I would stay with IE 7. On the other hand, if it's Vista then , I would certainly upgrade to IE 8. I have been using (on and off) IE 8 since the Beta and find it to be much more responsive than IE 7. If you do have compatibility issues with certain sites then , use the little Broken Icon on the right hand side of the Address bar. This should help with most sites not responding well in IE 8. Also , update the Java to the latest 1.6.0.16 : http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp . Use this one :
Windows XP/Vista/2000/2003/2008 Offline . Make sure that you have only ONE version of Java on your PC. Remove all others after installing the latest. You can make use of this little tool to remove old Java installations :
http://raproducts.org/javara.html . if you need explanations , just ask.Athlonite.
Your help is always needed.

Re: IE7 install problem
You can solve most Windows Installer related problems by installing the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility from Microsoft and removing any previous entries for "WOT for Internet Explorer".

Two downloads
That "[1]" indicates you've downloaded it twice. Look where you downloaded it, and you may see two. If so, get rid of the one with the brackets.
Or better yet, get rid of them all and download it again (AFTER you've removed the existing ones).

And BTW IE7 is now obsolete
If you must use IE, at least upgrade to IE8

Arguable
While I've long since abandoned Windows and IE for Linux, the IE8 debate remains alive with no less than an MSMVP (Susan Bradley) in an August 13th Windows Secrets Newsletter dissing the IE8 Upgrade.
She says in part: "I'm postponing deployment of IE 8 on my computers, because I continue to encounter compatibility problems in my testing."
Don't misunderstand . . . I'm certainly not saying MSMVP's are infallible. I'm just saying that it's arguable whether or not IE8 is ready for prime time. Personally, my sense is that it is an improvement over IE7.
Whether or not it's a necessary upgrade to install WOT, I think WOT works fine on IE7.

So I am unable to install - can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance,
