Free Security Tool Now Scans Shortened URLs

Shortened URLs can lead users to malicious sites because there’s no way of telling what the URL is about. There are many services that offer shortened URLs. All you need to do is type the full URL and the service will provide a shorten version.

    Shorten URL Services: tinyurl.com, shorturl.com, metamark.net, abe5.com

    Twitzer

This add-on for Firefox is a TinyURL and Bit.ly expander (turns short URLs back to original URL) . It is called Twitzer: http://shorttext.com/twitzer.aspx

Whenever you right click you will see "Resolve Bit.lys" and "Resolve TinyURLs." Click either one, depending on what type of shorten it has, and it will display the original URL -- then if you have WOT installed, right-click on the original URL and click "View WOT Scorecard." Another great way to use WOT! :)
