        codhead

codhead stated his reason as poor health, and mood swings. He said that he'd got angry easily, somewhere in the email he sent to Timo, somewhere in the WOT forums(anyone wanna search for it?)
He was upset after Timo appeared to tell off cotojo and the WOT community after a sockpuppet, curiously strong mints if I remember right, posted negative ratings on cotojo's site. After that, Timo stated hi reason as the Language Barrier, but codhead had already made up his mind to leave. He said that maybe he'd come back one day, but he hasn't.
Guess we shouldn't lose hope. maybe one day he'll pop up again(:

Timo DID try to straighten it out

A PM I got from codhead:

"Hi my friend,Saw your comment in support of cotojo. You have said what we all are feeling.Colin is one of the most fair blokes I have come across.I am really pissed off about this whole thing.

If Timo had acted straight away and removed the lie from Colin's board I bet me and Colin would not have acted like we did.Saying WOT is fair and all users are allowed comments is bullshit. The remarks by curiously strong are still on my scorecard and I definitely will not remove them. They are downright racist remarks to and strong did not get his wrist slapped.WOT is acting a bit like don't upset the trolls. But that could backfire if the trolls think we are restrained and they are not.

Sorry drifting again.Must be a age thing LOL.But really,my compliments to you for sticking up for Colin. When FrankJ had a attack on his site it was me who called a rallying call to his defense like I did with cotojo but then the perpetrator got banned. But then again he was one person.

Taking a few days out in case I say something I should not.I am not frightened of a verbal punch up as you know but the mood I am in it may be my last if I do blow.Don't worry I calm down eventually.

Probably see you next week.Best Wishes my friend.Mal the Cod head"

To be fair, Timo DID post in that thread that the "language barrier" did make the post that codhead interpreted as caustic seem so. Timo explained that he was in no way suggesting that Colin was wrong. Plus Colin posted that perhaps he had said what he said in anger or haste. The whole thing between codhead, Timo, and Colin was a big misunderstanding, caused mostly by that "language barrier".

      Codhead and PHung

Yes, codhead and I had exchanged PM's. Also PHung.

An excerpt from the last PM I got from codhead:

Hi Bobjam,Read the article that exposes them for the neo nazi's they are.Still feeling a bit pissed of so roaming the net for a change. In fact I am quite enjoying roaming around rather than just working for WOT.I have earned my right to the use of the WOT services. Some folks use it and do not do a stroke.

Best wishes my friend.Mal the Cod head

I think codhead left because of the flap he had over that Stormfront trolling nonsense (members of the community that were around back then may remember).

      Another excerpt:

Has for pHung he has departed from WOT because he is disgusted how the neo Nazi's seem to be manipulating the scorecards with their ludicrous comments.I am encouraging him to come back and have posted a private message on his board and so has shazza. At the moment I think he may return as I am in contact with him by e mail but he is a man of strong principles which is admirable in a way.You see so little of it in the younger generation. No thats not totaly true, thats my old man cynicism. That was a hard word for a Saturday morning.

I have not mentioned his leaving on the forum because I figured least said soonest mended and he may return to us quicker.

Best Wishes as always to you and Lynn.Mal the Cod head

An excerpt from the last PM I got from PHung:

We are all very glad that those threads got stopped. Although I kind of sympathize with Cod Head baiting the trouble maker. Cod Head's blood pressure went up when he saw the manipulated scorecards. Everything else has been coming from that.

      Yours

      PHung”

He also, I think, left because of that Stormfront trolling nonsense, though he wasn't a "GOM" like codhead and I were.

Those guys were very productive members of the community. In fact a few weeks back I think I saw them still listed among the top 100 in activity scores. Not too shabby for guys that haven't been around for almost 6 months now.

Thanks for the excerpts. It feels as though cod head is still around. Miss the old guy.

        PHung

Sometimes, we realise the importance of somebody only when he is gone.
Such as the case of PHung.
He was an active, strong warrior against drugs, hate sites and racism. He rated down much of these sites- to pay the prices. As you can see on his board, users attack him on a fortnightly, maybe weekly basis. They question his presence on WOT, and go as far as to call him a troll. In an extreme case which is viewable on his board:
        PHung's Board
        a user even said,
Marijuana is safer than alcohol to consume.
His contributions to us against the fight of hateful, violent and illegal content, racism, questionable ethics has been remarkable.
But all these heroes come and go, and in PHung's case, it seems inevitable that he'll never come back again.
He might not have been missed as much as codhead is, but his contribution is in no way lesser than codhead's were.

          PHung

Sooo.... what about the several legitimate sites he has rated badly? How does one justify that? I'm new here and may not understand how things work, but I had to comment because I've found several sites, including a technical publication site, that PHung rated badly. Maybe he's done a lot of good, but I can certainly see where he has hurt several sites with his ratings. Now, maybe I'm missing something here and if I am, I will apologize, but I call 'em like I see 'em. I just can't see how someone can praise an individual that would do this sort of thing. Go look at some of the sites he's rated. you might see why some label him a troll.

            Sites?

List these "legitimate" sites you're talking about, please.

And who labeled PHung a troll?

(BTW, murach.com IS listed on the blacklist that PHung linked to in his comment . . . though I see Warxas has pointed out that the compuweb blacklist sometimes lists "legitimate" sites . . . so is that the one you were talking about or are there others?).

              Want to comment

On that statement. While I wouldn't call Phung a troll...
I do want to say something. He rated many sites according to one blacklist, this one; http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/compuweb.com

Now, because many of the sites listed in that list were in fact legitimate, that's why some might have called him a troll.
Of course, I did something like that, but I did correct my wrong. Again I am not saying Phung was WRONG.
I'm just saying, CAREFULLY check the legitimacy of your blacklists. :)

            re: PHung

He has retired his account with WOT and decided to leave his Member ID intact; never know what the future may hold. Any site that you come across where he has given a rating that you may disagree with... You can rate and disagree, you can "Flag the Comment" for WOT Staff review, or you can use the Support->site feedback, report an incorrect rating.

As with any blacklist service, you are bound to get some false positives and you are going to get "good" sites that got hacked, rate them low and when they are cleaned you can remove your rating/comment for them. It's happened with me, I get PM's now and then from site owers saying, "we're clean now can you re-evaluate?" I do, and sometimes rate them high

PHung was a very active Member of this Community and did what he felt was in the best interest for other WOT users, including yourself. IMHO, your statement requires explicit apologies.
