Re: psoe.es not safe?!
The site's reputation appears to be unsatisfactory currently, not poor, and the reputation tells you how much people trust the website, not only whether the site is safe. If you disagree with a reputation, you can rate the site yourself.

Re: psoe.es not safe?!
Hey Sami,
First of all thanks for answering.
I'm not sure if I understand. You mean that because people decided not to trust a website which, at least after I checked, does not have anything that puts your computer (or child) in danger, Wot will show a huge banner before entering the site that states "This website has poor reputation"?
I use Wot to avoid entering websites that might put my computer/privacy in danger, not to block safe websites people has something against. You will have to agree that a vote like this to a safe political website doesn't make sense...
By the way, before I added my vote and rating the website showed as red. Might have changed after I voted.
I am in no way related to this political party in any way, I was just browsing and got very surprised to such a low ranking. To me, this means the way Wot evaluates websites is not entirely correct and somehow it can be abused. Yeah, I can rank the website as safe and that's it, but a new visitor that doesn't know how this works might just close the website scared shit.
What if everyone decided to vote cnn.com (to say something) as unsafe? Or barackobama.com? (I assume the company is American xD)
If this is "simply just the way Wok works", then I will just shut up and move on. I just wanted to express how amazed this left me, really... I really didn't know/expect this program worked this way.
Thanks. -

Re: psoe.es not safe?!
show a huge banner before entering the site
The add-on warns you if the site's reputation is low enough to trigger the warning. You can adjust your warning levels or disable the warnings altogether from the settings.
the way Wot evaluates websites is not entirely correct
It doesn't actually evaluate websites, but only computes reputations for them from user ratings and other available information.
and somehow it can be abused
The rating system is meritocratic and has proven to be very resistant to manipulation attempts on several occasions. However, it's impossible to tell if any one user is objective or whether the rating is correct by someone else's standards. Therefore, if a site has only few ratings, it's obviously possible that the reputation doesn't reflect the opinion of the majority.
What if everyone decided to vote cnn.com (to say something) as unsafe?
Well, if everyone decides that cnn.com cannot be trusted and they rate it poorly, then its reputation would plummet. Of course, it would probably require a pretty drastic event for this to happen.

Re: psoe.es not safe?!
Hey Sami,
Thanks again for your answer.
I fully understand how Wot works now. I really like the program, but it doesn't offer me what I thought it did. Having my browsing being "limited" (I know it's my choice to have it or not....) by people's bias opinions is not what I was looking for.
In any way I'm saying I will uninstall it since I like it, just that I will need to find another utility to truly secure my browsing. A dangerous website might be giving himself positives in Wot and not even show a message of risks if I visit....
My apologies, I was wrong since the beginning...
Thanks for your answers :-)

Political criteria NOT used by raters!
"Having my browsing being "limited" (I know it's my choice to have it or not....) by people's bias opinions is not what I was looking for."
If you don't want your browsing "limited" by the "biased" opinions of others (and all opinions, including yours, by their very definition are "biased"), then, as Sami pointed out, you can configure WOT to only warn on your . . . "biased" . . . opinion. In the alternative, you can look for a safe-browsing utility that is composed of members that share all your . . . "biased" . . . opinions . . . but I don't know of one like that.
BTW, I visited the site, but I don't speak Spanish, so I can't rate it. AND, I did not see any warning banner.
Anyway, as far as I know, there isn't any political consensus among WOT users. IOW, they are not predominantly conservative or liberal. And even if there is, as far as I know, WOT users (at least the ones that have achieved substantial reliability) DO NOT use political views as a criterion of rating.
There are plenty of lunatic fringe sites out there (NOT saying that psoe.es is lunatic fringe) that have a green rating, hence to me that's proof that WOT raters do not rate based on expressed opinions (unless they're obviously hate oriented or something like that).

This is a test. Take notes.
This is a test. Take notes. This will count as 3/4 of your final grade. Hints: remember, in chess, kings cancel each other out and cannot occupy adjacent squares, are therefore all-powerful and totally powerless, cannot affect each other, produce stalemate. Hinduism is a polytheistic religion; the sect of Atman worships the divine spark of life within Man; in effect saying, "Thou art God." Provisos of equal time are not served by one viewpoint having media access to two hundred million people in prime time while opposing viewpoints are provided with a soapbox on the corner. Not everyone tells the truth. Operational note: these sections may be taken out of numerical sequence: rearrange to suit yourself for optimum clarity. Turn over your test papers and begin.

psoe.es not safe?!
Is the "poor reputation" for political reasons? This website is good, without any relation to the political party you might support.. Sad to see what I thought to be a good application, taking this turn.... Not child safe? Very disappointing.
I guess the rating is based on people's votes... but have you thought the case of people using this option to boycott websites? No that this question relates directly with this case, but I'm surprised at this find and would like an answer to how you rate websites and if you never check the votes to be valid somehow.
Thanks.
