    Hotmail help please.

Hi,all. Can somebody help please i logged in to my Hotmail account this morning no problem but when i tried to log out i was redirected to a page that said you must allow Third party cookies in your browser? This is FireFox i have never ticked the allow third party cookies box and this has never happened before? So to sign out it tells me to close all browsers..I have no problem with IE8 signing out, But i never use it..Im just a little concerned because of the Hotmail passwords being leaked the other week..

    Thank you for your time.........cheers.......p.........

    They shouldn't do that, normally...

So you are not logged out when you click the logout link and then go back?

    I got..

the same message this morning. I think it's the new version of Firefox 3.5.4. I did access my other accounts latter on today and all was fine. I never allow third party cookies to be installed. It looks like a bug. I also had FF crash on me tonight (last night). It hasn't happened in a LONG time. The error reporting console came up automatically and I made a report. Try it again today sometime and see how it goes.
there seems to be more bugs in this one than in the other versions.

I just got a message as I was typing this reply saying that the version 3.5.5 was up for download so, I will close this session and update to the newer version. I knew this one was buggy.

    Athlonite.

    Edit :
Just updated to latest version of Firefox 3.5.5 then, went to Hotmail. All is back to normal on my end . Try it now Paul.

    Your help is always needed.

      Paul...

open Firefox then, click on the Help button . Click on the "About Mozilla Firefox". It should tell you which version you are using. IF you are on 3.5.4 then, from the help button , click on the " check for updates" link. It will search for the latest version. If you don't get any updated version other than 3.6 Beta and IF you are not on 3.5.5 then, download and install from this link :

    Hey Paul !

Some cookies are dangerous if left on your PC because of the Reporting factor of certain types of cookies but, as it is configured, you won't be keeping ANY cookies OR carry over any Cache from your sessions with Firefox as It will Clean out all of your personal info. when it closes.

You do realize that , by doing it this way, you Might have to sign back in Every time you bring Firefox back up again. If you go to the same screen in Firefox, you can ADD or Delete some or All of the cookies stored on your PC. You can also ADD cookies manually (or delete) them when clicking on the "Show Cookies..." button.
Just click on one of them to get the full info. on that particular cookie.
    Photobucket

You can also adjust What is deleted when Firefox closes by clicking on the "Settings" button. From there you check or uncheck what is deleted by Firefox at the end of a session :
    Photobucket .

OK Paul, if you have any other questions, well, you know where to find me LOL !
Don't forget to click on the "OK" when you finish with the configuration.

    3rd party cookies

LOL, I haven't used my hotmail email in quite awhile, seems it's still "active" and... yeah 3rd party cookies are required???
    Sign out failed!

We could not sign you out because your browser seems to be blocking third party cookies.

    * Close all browser windows to sign out.
    * To prevent this error in the future, you must enable third party cookies by chaging your browser settings.

lol, should be chaNging - this was a copy/paste text from the error page; MSN should use a spell checker. ;-)

    My advise,
dump hotmail - if they require 3rd party cookies, they are no longer secure - they can't even spell!

I would suggest using a gmail email account, and revert Firefox's settings by un-checking the 3rd party cookie acceptance; what if you browsed in Privacy mode?

3rd party is not in hotmail so it can be Mr badweb way he need the info?
Don't need it for Yahoo, Gmail, KiwiOnline. with Firefox no 3rd party cookies.
