    Setting rating maximums

Never able to get my ratings to 100%, seems the sliders do not get there.
    Happens with Firefox and Chrome.

    Regards,

    Dave

Click juuuust outside the bar, in the white margin area. You'll hit 100% every time.

        Argh, can't install it!

Argh, can't install it! That's a great theme, but I'm using Minefield 3.7 and it's not approved for that. Unfortunately, if I had access to the XPI (if the site would let me), it would install because I have the config hack that allows not-for-version extensions.

      Yup!

I do this too if I want to put a 100% rating on a site. It's easier and faster than sliding the sliders.

    One Thing

I would say that it would be nice to have some way of knowing exactly what number we've just rated a site as. At the moment all we can do is click a rough estimate of how we rate the aspect of the site out of 100 but have no chance to specify exactly how much out of 100 we want to give it nor do we ever see exactly what we've scored it.

      Don't think so

      Try this:

Go to your profile and click on the "My ratings" tab. Hover over any rating donut for a site you rated, and the exact number of the score/rating you gave will be displayed. At least this is the way it works for me in FF 3.5.7 (Ubuntu).

As far as scoring on a site, I'm not sure you can get an exact number . . . the best you can do is slide your selection and estimate dark or light on the scale. And that is sufficient for me . . . for example if I give a dark red rating for a site, whether it's a 1 or a 4 it still shows up in a Google search as a dark red donut and serves to warn that this site is unsafe . . . period! (The actual number is pretty much irrelevant when you look at it that way).

Curious too . . . why would the actual number matter to you as long as you put the slider in light or dark as you intend? A dark red/green is a dark red/green is a dark red/green . . .

Didn't know about the my ratings thing.

Another way to view numerical ratings

If you are curious about the numerical values that you have assigned to your ratings, another way to view numerical ratings, at least using FF3.5.7 browser, is the following:

        1. Click on the "My Ratings" tab on your profile.
        2. Hover over the "Show: All" column heading until the menu of options appears.
        3. From the "Show: All |0-9 |A-C |D-F |G-I |J-L |M-O |P-R |S-U |V-X |Y-Z |" menu you can
        a. click on the word "Show" to have the coloured numerical ratings appear, and then
        b. click on the word "All" to have the coloured donuts appear adjacent to the numbers.

          Slick

Pretty slick. How did you discover that . . . the Wiki or just by messing around?

            Serendipity

Wish I could claim artful analysis of the underlying javascript code, or perhaps inspiration guided by divine powers. In fact, I simply noticed that the numbers had appeared to me one day, and after asking myself "How did I do that?" I poked around and discovered how to replicate the phenomenon.

I'll take lucky over good any day.

    I think...

its only the question of beeing able to do it.
It can disturb people somehow if the precision isnt there.
It bothered me too in the beginning.

    Yeah, click just to the

Yeah, click just to the right of the slider for a 100% rating, or just to the left of it for a 0% rating. I have very black-and-white thinking wrt site ratings (as far as I'm concerned, most sites are either all good, or all bad, rarely in between) so I picked up the above trick early on.

As for pimping Firefox, I'm more of a Personas man.

still having same issues with my ratings

I have followed the suggestions, all of you have given me, but I still cannot get my rating any higher, than I have submitted.
It is not a big issue, but I think there is an issue with Firefox 3.5.8 in Linus Mint 64bit
