RequestPolicy
No reason to repeat the add ons already mentioned. But one I missed: RequestPolicy
"RequestPolicy is a Firefox extension that gives you control over cross-site requests.
RequestPolicy is an extension for Mozilla browsers that improves the privacy and security of your browsing by giving you control over when cross-site requests are allowed by webpages you visit. It is the first comprehensive client-side protection against CSRF attacks and the first tool to enable the use of modern browsers without cross-site information leakage.
It is compatible with Firefox 3+, SeaMonkey 2.0, Flock 2.0, Songbird 1.0, and Fennec 1.0. It works wherever these browsers do (Linux, BSD, Mac, Windows, etc.)..."

FireFox FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) Add-On.
Nice list wehaveitall, very good list demonluo. Pay heed to those who posted into this thread with 1 or 2 less than WOT green add-ons. Mozilla has many & some make me wonder just how much glitz is in a free gizmo (LabPixies=WOT green, but a few have shown undesirable traits during virus sweeps/ad-ware mostly!) & how secure that portal into my FireFox browser will be when I install it & surf onto an https URL. It's a LOT of time/work to compile/install a list like that & labor U don't want 2 lose, with all your favorite plug-ins, theme(s), bookmarks, profiles, contacts, cookies etc., and tweaks U make to them take time to set to your likings. Total loss of a list very similar to yours has happened to me during a partial or for sure a total system reload or even a FireFox upgrade to the next build when Mozilla updates FF, which it does often. Back then I had to pull them back from my back up 100gig SeaGate external HD, sometimes my presets were gonzo, changed or re-set to default. Then along came FEBE. I have found the FEBE add-on c/o Chuck_Baker is a must-have gizmo/Add-On. Maybe one of the most imortant ones in any list of FF add-ons. During install it will ask you where U want to keep this data that gets heavy the more add-ons you have. I keep 2 back-ups, the original FF build and what I added/deleted since, they store in the FEBE parent folder inside sub-folders by date & time (FEBE 2009 12-16 12.59.54) my 1st was 577kb my next 13MB's! Suggest set your FEBE store folder in maybe: 'My Documents' (Windows) I don't know where other OS users would place their's? Work with this add-on, installs a small round analog clock icon on bottom-right of your FF browser screen telling U with a mouse-over when the next back-up is scheduled for, or for B/U now or what add-ons are waiting to install. The 'Tools' pull-down menu now has a FEBE entry and that is where you can input what U want it to do & when. Set it to when & what U want to back-up your complete or just the essential profile data on a basis that suits you & how much space U have on your HD. It does take more time the more Add-On's/extras/data gizmos U have of course to save and to reload, but should your Fox take off running and forgets to take along his (Add-On) bags, this backup in a FBU File format understood by FEBE and maybe as large as 10-20MB's in size is all the neato add-ons, plug-ins and a complete profile U put together that should you end up with a naked or a stripped-down default FireFox will replace it to the last back up state with no loss.
FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up. It will actually rebuild your extensions individually into installable .xpi files. Now you can easily synchronize your office and home browsers.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/210... FEBE 6.3.2. A real blessing that keeps your Fox looking the way you want it should a new build wipe all your work out. My full back-up once a week takes 30-mins, sucks RAM on my Pentium 4 CPU 3.2 GHz, & 1.93GB DDR2 (RAM) system, a powerful/fast beast that I need, if you are on 1GB of AMD RAM @ 500MHZ it will take longer, but the back-up/recover process IS much faster than rebuilding your FF from the basic no frills puppy stage add-on by add-on, rebooting each time it will take U 4-5 times longer than it would to tell your FEBE to rebuild what U lost. Hope that helps all FF users. I know that demonluo DID have it listed on the his list, I just felt that without me amplifying what FEBE could do, it may not get the full impact it so richly deserves.M_W

Said it before
I know I've said this before . . . but, your posts read like one big run-on sentence. I wouldn't mention this again, except there are some very good points you make. Only they are buried in the one big paragraph and many readers probably move on rather than try to sift through the bulk and try to get to the good stuff.
My point is, a lot of your good stuff goes unread because many don't want the "eyestrain".
Now I know you said you used an editor to compose your posts, and when you copy and paste, the formatting gets lost.
If there's no workaround to that, then might I suggest you just tolerate the normal compose effort in this window.
I wouldn't make that suggestion if I didn't think there's some worth to what you're saying.
See if you can break up your stuff into smaller paragraphs and shorter sentences. What you have to say is worth the read, but you're losing the audience.

Cheers for the link, I read
Cheers for the link, I read the first couple of comments and I am going to go back after this post to have a proper look, as one of the things that did worry me about Ghostery was in the Ghostery Options whereby you can enable GhostRank which states that you may be sending anonymous stats etc to Ghostery.
I have always left this disabled but I think its time to have a more in-depth look at some of the issues and their privacy policy
Thanks for the list, I already use some but will look at the others as well :)

Ghostery
I tried the ghostery plugin some time ago and I quickly removed it from my system because there are other plugins that do the job better.
Adblock Plus is good for blocking adverts and doesn't interfere with the system in the way that ghostery does. The other features are not particularly useful because they can be bypassed by spammers and scammers.

I really like Adblock Plus, if I have had to disable it for any reason, it always surprises me how much ads are displayed everywhere, thankfully I've been browsing mostly ad free for the past couple of years :)

Ghostery is gone
I've been reviewing the comments received about Ghostery and checking the new website owners for Ghostery and, I agree with a post above that there is too much complaints to fully trust this product, especially since the new owners were involved with advertising themselves (but not now, apparently).
