    Infected Email advice.

    Hi,

    My wife received an Email from the Craigslist with a link. She clicked on it and now after re-reading the Email she realized that this was either a Spam or a Virus. Can someone investigate this link and advice me on the course of action ....?

    Thanks.

      .....

      This is presently redirecting to;

      hxxp://www.ezwrk.com/m7/

      Which is returning "Server taken down". Sadly this makes it difficult to identify the infection with any accuracy. The IP it's hosted at, 200.63.44.219, is on a well known criminal network (Eveloz), which has been home to several exploits, fake AV's and the Zbot infection.

      If possible, could you please follow the instructions at;

      And one of the Malwarebytes staff will assist in cleaning it up for you.

      Report Scams in the UK

      In the UK any scam e-mails should be reported to the Police. I have previously found that the Police are very helpful in identifying suspicious e-mails and are quick to take action where necessary. Just print a copy of the suspicious e-mail and take it into your local Police Station, and it should only take them a few minutes to tell you whether or not the e-mail is genuine.

        Don't I wish...

        You're lucky. I wish the police here were that helpful.

      Language barrier?

      Perhaps it's the language barrier, but your screen name is a little on the vulgarism side. You might consider changing it to something like "IDon'tLikeSpam". Just a suggestion . . .

      "...the spammer..."

      Surely it's the scammers rather than the spammers that are of greater concern. If anyone should be 'named and shamed' it is the scammers who are looking to rip people off, and it might be useful to publish lists, photos, and any relevant details of the worst offenders. Spam is easily dealt with by any of the myriad anti-spam filters, and most e-mail client software allows the user to add some local filtering.

        In the usa this is done with criminals but in must other countries this is illegal. It takes the chance to integrate a criminial into society. I understand you and it would be interesting and might stop scam but this is something that cannot be done
