Do you have "Allow mywot.com to authenticate your add-on" enabled in "Advanced" preferences?

Do you have cookies disabled in Firefox or are you using third-party software, which blocks cookies?

Heh, how do you log out of the site? :)

re:Login text area says "add-on not installed" while

You disable the "Allow mywot.com to authenticate your add-on" option from the add-on preferences. Then you can log in (and out) manually whenever you prefer.

re:Login text area says "add-on not installed" while

I have cookies enabled. The only add-on I have next to WOT is Adblock Plus. WOT page still shows "add-on not installed" when I disable "Allow mywot.com to authenticate your add-on".

I'm on Mac OS X Tiger & Firefox 2.0.0.6 now.

re:Login text area says "add-on not installed" while

Well, that's sort of expected. If you disable that option, you don't have an add-on installed as far as the website is concerned. If you want to use any of the website features that require the add-on to be present, you need to enable it.

Well then the text (add-on not installed) doesn't make sense...

So, what do you feel would make more sense then?

re:Login text area says "add-on not installed" while

    Well consider this use case:

You've just downloaded & installed WOT and you're logging on to mywot.com. Login page says "The add-on is not installed" and offers a link to the download page. What do you do? You think the add-on is not installed.

I'm not an expert how Firefox add-ons work, but if it's possible to really detect if the add-on is installed (with or without the "autologin" option on) the site should create a link like: "Log in automatically... " in the login screen. And redirect you to a page that tells you how to do that. (= click the "autologin"-checkbox at preferences)

re:Login text area says "add-on not installed" while

I'm sure this could be easily improved in future versions. Luckily, when you first install the add-on, this option is enabled by default. So unless the user tweaks the advanced settings, they won't be confused about the message.
