the WOT-buttons are too low on the page

    Hi Folks,

"this site is safe - I want to rate it" -- "ignore warning and go to the site"

On my setup I have to go through hoops - F11 to full screen, answer NoScript if it is up and drink some herb tea ... before the buttons are available. (Yes, there are times I want to ignore WOT and run over the warning like a Mack truck.)

May can we at least have a config option to put those on the top of the page !

    Thanks.

    Shalom,
    Steven Avery

Download the latest version. It's been sitting on the review queue for over a month now. Hopefully someone at Mozilla takes a look at it soon.

      Warning screen

You may have misunderstood. The OP was talking about the warning screen.

I have the same problem, Steve.

Yes, on an 1024x768 screen, it's sometimes cut off a bit.

re: the WOT-buttons are too low on the page

    Two solutions:

    First:
go to the link Sami pointed out, it cured the exact same problem for my wife who has font size so BIG it boggles me as to how she even navigates through the Net or her email. But the update resolved the issues by removing the icon graphics and making the "block" that contains the buttons smaller.

Second (after you update - always remain current)
You can go to Settings -> Warnings and tick the check box below the rating Warn / Block that says "Show only notification of warnings" this way the darkened screen does not appear only the notification bar that drops down. This is my preferred setting.

re: the WOT-buttons are too low on the page

      Hi,
I have also had this problem with the WOT warning screen message buttons when using the above display resolutions and have tried downloading and installing the latest version of WOT which was supposed to fix this annoying bug.

However with the latest version of WOT the buttons are indeed higher but now the text of the warning messages on the buttons is completely garbled and simply can not be read, So it is just as well I know which button is which.

I have WOT installed in the Firefox for the Mac and am dismayed this bug has still not been completely fixed and will have to revert back to using "Show only notifications of warnings".

I would also like to add that I do not like the fact that when WOT is configured to display the black warning screen you can still very faintly see the contents of the website in the background and that the page is still loading while you decide on your course of action.

This is not good enough if you or your children do not wish to be exposed to offensive or adult content on the internet.

I feel the black warning screen should be TOTALLY 100% black and NO content of that website should be visible at all.

I am aware that the warning screen is totally black and websites are stopped from loading when WOT is configured to block your chosen categories, but I strongly feel that the content of websites should not be visible at all when WOT is configured to warn you about a website.

Apart from those annoying issues. I still like the guidance and protection that WOT provides us all.

It works for me just fine on a Mac (also on Windows and Linux, using Firefox 3.0 and 3.5). Have you customized the font or display settings in Firefox somehow? Could you please post a screen shot?

am dismayed this bug has still not been completely fixed

You should be dismayed, especially considering how much the add-on costs. Have you tried creating a clean Firefox profile to see if that helps?

You can either turn on blocking or set the option weboftrust.warning_opacity to "1.0" in about:config.

This is not good enough if you or your children do not wish to be exposed to offensive or adult content on the internet.

Of course, using only warnings isn't good enough then either, because the page might appear before the warning screen has a chance to cover it.

Re: the WOT buttons are too low on the page

          Hi sami,
I have tried creating a new Firefox Profile and this appears to have fixed this problem.

Regarding the content of website pages still being faintly visible when WOT is configured to only warn about bad websites, I have set the option for the weboftrust.warning_opacity to 1.0 in about:config and now nothing can be seen in the background when you get a black warning screen.

I strongly feel that this should be the default setting for the black warning screen of instead of allowing WOT users to be possibly exposed to offensive or adult content.
