Celebrity news attracts cybercrooks

Malware writers and spammers take advantage of big news stories such as these to distribute malicious downloads of spyware, adware and potential viruses.
One of the newer trends is that of redirecting valid links in search results. Cybercrooks have been using this technique recently for installing rogue antivirus software. In the case of celebrity news, you will most likely be taken to a site that offers links to more news or photos. Once you click on the link, your PC is susceptible to attack. Use WOT to check the rating if you are in doubt. Twitter users should be aware that shortened URLs can also be linked to malware. Be on the safe side and check the link before you open it with a service like Shuurl. Shuurl uses WOT to check the reputation rating first so you can be confident before you click.
Finally, be on the alert for emails which have links to pictures or videos, because they may very well link to phishing sites which try to steal you personal data or attempt to install malware. For current WOT users who are aware of these types of scams, please educate your friends and family. Fraudsters use social engineering to fool innocent people and expensive damage is done. WOT is an essential tool that offers frontline protection against these crooks and together we can make the Internet safer for everyone.

Can't believe this wouldn't happen
Such a predictable event, but that's extremely low, especially taking advantage against someone's death. Have they no shame?
Just MyWOT and SpywareBlaster, I guess... Found a malicious or fraudulent website? Rate it at WOT ASAP! Found a game hacker? Report it to the game's anti-cheat team! Infected with a virus? Delete it with an antivirus =P
Everyone would take advantage of such cases.
As these cases are not commonly seen, most people will take advantage and make full use of the time to host scam or malicious sites.
*Most people refers to those who likes to redirect people to scam/malicious/virus sites.
Still, i find it a pity that people are abusing it..

Not ready for any ratings I'm sure, this is just from a source of recently registered domain names. Some of these may be genuine memorial sites, while others, I'm certain, are to be used for the advantage of the domain owner; whether it be simple as a domain name for resale, or it be for phishing or other scandalous activities. We'll have to keep a watch on these as time goes by. I searched for obvious names, there may be more like "jacksonmichael_blah" or "jacksomm_blah" or " theKingOfPop_blah" etc, etc.

Prelim results shows many are still parked. Some, like michaeljacksondead.org ( which redirects to michaeljacksondead.net, whose sole purpose seems to be promoting loive.com), seem to be for sale already, suggesting they were purchased specifically for the purpose of re-selling at stupid prices. michaeljacksondie.org seems to have the sole purpose of promoting scams via affiliate links, and michaeljacksondied.org is promoting YouTube videos, though as I don't have access to a test machine and am not risking my main machine, haven't verified the YT videos contents.
Out of the list you posted, I'm seeing a max of around 4-5 that are actually legit.
Again however, these are pre-lim results only.

Well of course evil people use this for good. And that is just horrible. As Reprotected asked, have they no shame? Because it's very, very horrible to use another's death for things like that. =/
