IE...
I don't get Internet Explorer errors, but Google has seen this many times
Tools->Internet Options->Security->Local Intranet->Sites
Uncheck 'Automatically detect intranet network'
Registry:

I found some information also but it was confusing to me. Seems like it is more for a n actual network rather than a home user so I think the "Uncheck 'Automatically detect intranet network'" is my best option.
I rarely use IE and for reasons just like this LOL.

Warning - Intranet Settings are now turned off...
I just got what I think should have been a 404 but instead it gave me this. (see pic)
