    WOT disappeared from my browser!

    I was Googling just now and I noticed that WOT was no longer at the top of my browser! I checked my list of add-ons and it was no longer there either. I had to d/l it again. Can anyone explain what happened? Will it happen again? This is disturbing.

    I can't help with why it happened but I've had FF completely "forget" EVERYTHING a few times. There are add-ons for backing up your FF settings. Might want to give them a look.

    Is there any chance your Firefox suddenly loaded a different profile? Are your bookmarks still there, for example?

    Ubuntu

    I've had this happen a few times to me in Ubuntu . . . I think it has something to do with the profile in the root, and the profile in your user account . . . they are different. I managed to recover, but I'm still not sure how I did it.

    However, if you have Windows, I can't help you.

      That's right, all user accounts have separate Firefox profiles.

    My bookmarks and everything

    My bookmarks and everything else were normal. The WOT icon in the toolbar was just gone. It was deleted from my browser somehow. It hasn't happened again so far, so we'll see.

    Same problem since April'09

    I have been having this problem since I first installed Wot to my Firefox in April. It happens almost everytime I switch on the computer. I will have to re-install my Firefox and the icon will reappear again. It's very troublesome. However, I don't feel safe surfing without WoT, so I have no choice but to repeat the process almost everytime I use the computer.

    Would appreciate it very much if someone could help me with this. Thank you.

      You should try reinstalling

      You should try reinstalling Firefox, deleting your profile between uninstall and reinstall. I'm sorry, but though it's harsh, it is the best way of flushing out Firefox's problems.

      If that doesn't work, you could have other underlying problems.

        Done that...

        Thank you very much for your advice. However I have been doing that to have my WOT icon to reappear again and again... I was hoping there was a better way...:-(

    Whenever Firefox goes to upgrade to the latest version, the updating during the process for all of your add-ons was not done. Therefore, a lot of your add-ons were not updated. Maybe some were disabled, such as WOT
