I have the same issue with WOT. I was thinking something on my side was causing this but seeing as I'm not the only one I'm guessing there's something wrong with WOT?
I have WOT for both Firefox and IE and it's not working on either so it can't be the browsers either.
Whatever it is, I hope this gets fixed soon. The Internet is such a dangerous place without WOT :P.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Failed to load ratings
We are not aware of any problems on our end. Can you access api.mywot.com from the browser?
If you are using Windows, please try running
nslookup api.mywot.comandtracert api.mywot.comon Command Prompt and post the output. Also post if you are using Firefox or Internet Explorer, which operating system version, and which antivirus / firewall software you are using. -

I cannot access the website
I cannot access the website you posted (api.mywot.com), nslookup didn't even show up (only for a 0.5 second) and tracert gave me no result either (something about timing out, don't know the exact English text as I'm using a different language windows)
My internet connection is working though, I can access everything else normally.

Re: I cannot access the website
Did you run both commands on Command Prompt? They should always output something.

Yes of course. See my edited post above. The traceroute command brought up a window, but it looked like
1 .... *.....*.....*..... something timed out

Re: Yes of course
If you first run cmd.exe and then type in the commands there, you'll see the full output and the window doesn't disappear.
It looks like your computer is unable to access our servers. If it doesn't start working soon, please contact your ISP and ask them why you can't access api.mywot.com, even though it's up.

Re: Failed to load ratings
That's great, but we didn't do anything. It sounds like there are still some routing issues somewhere. We'll contact our hosting provider to see if we can find out more.

Same here, the ratings
Same here, the ratings failed to load and I couldn`t access WOT homepage for almost one day with any browser: Chrome, FF or IE. I thought I was banned somehow :) after I succeded to access mywot using a proxy server in France. I had no chance (I omitted) to try nslookup, tracert, api.mywot.com or downforeveryoneorjustme.com while WOT was unreachable; now it`s too late beacause since few minutes, it`s back to normal...
Must have been indeed a routing issue. -

Re: Same here, the ratings
Must have been indeed a routing issue.
And a pretty bizarre one too. Pingdom is monitoring our servers from all over the world and they haven't had any problems accessing them.
Edit: Statistics show that the problem started yesterday evening and affected only some users, at this point it looks like only in Europe. We'll try to find out what caused this and where.

Re: Failed to load ratings
Update: Our hosting provider suspects the routing issue was between Global Crossing and TeliaSonera International Carrier and affected seemingly random IP address pairs, which would explain why the service was down for some users while others in the very same network could access it normally. The issue was resolved ~12.30 UTC yesterday.

Re: Why
That's a good question, but pretty much impossible to answer without further information. Have you tried the solutions on the problem report page?

Salvation?
The grey Icon turns to an colour only if enough people did vote for that site AND after 24 hours of patience

Re: Salvation?
That's the reason, not enough people have rated the site. However, it doesn't take 24 hours for reputations to update, it should be only ~30 minutes.

Okay, i though the Reputation off websites is as fast as the Personal Scores.

Failed to load ratings
Hello,
for two days, my WOT icon stays grey and keeps displaying the error "Failed to load ratings"
I searched the forums, this is what I tried and it didnt work:
-clearing cache
-creating another firefox profile
-creating another wot profile
-turning off any kind of firewall completely
Is there something wrong with the addon? I dont know about anything that could cause it, because as I said, it has been like this only for two days and I havent installed anything new into firefox.
I use firefox 3.5.2
Thanks for any help
