Why so many good sites ranked bad?

Seriously this get annoying some of my favorite sites that are clean are ranked unsatisfactory or have a red dot SERIOUSLY you should fix the ranking system. Some noob out there who don't even know how to use the sites say they have viruses and get a bad rating, but really the site has nothing wrong with them. Can the "WOT" developers figure out a different way that just have users post comments because half the comments are false, but don't get me wrong some are true, but most are not. Please rethink the how users rank sites thank you or reading this.

Please comment on your opinion on this matter....

Re: Why so many good sites ranked bad?

    Which sites would those be?

Edit: I should probably mention again that comments don't affect reputations, which are based on ratings only. It's certainly possible for any single comment to be unreliable, because unlike the reputation, the comment only represents the opinion of one person who felt strongly enough about the reputation to actually post a comment.

      Re: washington-dc-america.com

I'm not sure, but perhaps it has something to do with this. Btw "Teddy", it's not very cool to use multiple accounts to rate your sites and then pretend to be a concerned user on the forum.

Edit: I would like to clarify that darkmetal isn't one of the multiple accounts I was referring to. It seems darkmetal has genuine concerns about a site's reputation and I am looking forward to hearing which site he means.

    Hey darkmetal, can you post

Hey darkmetal, can you post a list of your "favorite" websites?

BTW, I went ahead and corrected my rating for http://www.washington-dc-america.com . It is now fully RED.

      cybersquatter site?

Would you mind clarifying exactly what is a cybersquatter site?
You've categorized you comment for this domain for Spam, where/who has it Spammed?
Are you rating this site low simply because someone has purchased domain names and set up an index page for them?

I find nothing malicious about any of the domains, nor do they have MX records (email ability) except for the main domain: teddybuoy.com which is not a Spam site (not blacklisted)

        From the teddybuoy.com site:

From the teddybuoy.com site: "we have many interesting domains at reasonable prices
please visit our domain pages above to see what we have for sale"

His domains do not have any content. He is just squatting at his domains in the hopes that someone will pay money for the names.

Here is one definition of cybersquatting:
"Cybersquatting is the act of registering domain names, especially those connected with celebrities or recognizable trademarks, with the intention of reselling them at an inflated price. A cybersquatter takes advantage of the domain registration companies' 'first come, first served' policy by submitting a large list of very popular words and names all at once. While the domain registration company is in the process of entering these names, the cybersquatter uses profits from individual domain resales to finance the required registration fees."
        http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-cybersquatter.ht...

His sites should be flagged RED. Cybersquatting is an unhealthy thing for the Internet since they provide no value and are at odds with the spirit of the domain name registration process.

      Re: in general

So these are your favorite sites, many of them are misrated, but despite writing two posts about the situation, you are too busy to tell us which sites they are? Ok, well here's something you can do the next time you don't agree with a reputation that shouldn't take up much of your time: click the toolbar button and rate the site. It takes only a few seconds, the add-on won't bother you about the site anymore, and your vote may actually end up improving the site's reputation.

      One site?

How 'bout just starting with one site instead of a list? That shouldn't take any more time than it takes to post a quick reply. Cut and paste . . . boom, there it is. (Substitute "xx" for the 'tt's" in http so that it isn't a live link).
