    Please review our German site

    Dear Community,

    One of our users informed me about our site being denounced by some WOT users. They call us "dubious profiteers", although our service is absolutely free and focussed on a high quality and usability. The website is however funded by advertising - this is the only way to allow us provide that free service.

    It's all about a quite large German web directory. All websites listed in our directory were checked (visited and categorized) manually by our support team before being published in the directory.

    As we don't accept any spammy websites and also don't accept any payment, it is absolute non-sense to call us "dubious profiteers". I thus expect the bad ratings come from competitors or webmasters we didn't accept for being listed in our directory.

      Well, I respect your opinion, but the comments say there are lots of dubious profiteers on our site.

      We list more than 10.000 websites, all manually checked by our team. That's lots of well-known companies and shops. I'm sure we don't earn to be distrusted just because estimated 1 to 3 percent of them perhaps provide a bad service to their customers.

      Please notice, finally its our service that's commented with "lots of dubious profiteers" at WOT and the users of Google thus recognize our service to be not trustworthy, what's simply not the truth.

          Good idea. I sent them a comment to their personal board. Lets see what happens, as they obviously are just fanatics using WOT to denounce everything not matching their personal lifestyle.

            You should, if you want to achieve anything, be a bit more kindly. No matter if here or if you are the owner of a company.

            You also should be more open to criticism. Dont take it to personally and,more important, do not become personally!!

    One of two, whilst the second is a fake identity with just 3 comments of which all are very aggressive and negativ. May I congratulate you for knowing one of them? ;)

    Thanks. Let me return this one. WOT and their power-users should more openly reflect the misuse of power in this system. As long as you don't recognize your own problems, how can you recognize the problems of others?

    The idea of WOT is fascinating and I'd appreciate if it worked reliably. But for now, it just isn't doing a good job for smaller websites. As most of the websites are small, this would be quite a good point for improvement. Please try to see it from my point of view. Currently it's WOT allowing a hand full of anonymous participants denouncing us. And there doesn't seem to be a way to handle that properly. So we have to live with it and hope our users are smart enough to deal with it.

      Ich schreibs mal auf deutsch, da du es auf englisch wohl nicht ganz verstehst:

      1. Der eine beurteilt eigentlich ordentlich, nur in diesem Fall wohl nicht, da ihr ja unfehlbar zu sein glaubt. Das ihr im Recht seit, sieht man ja auch an deiner Unfähigkeit, argumentativ dagegen vorzugehen, sodass du zu Beleidigungen, Behauptungen und Sarkasmus greifen musst.

      2. Nur weil der andere wenige Kommis hat, heisst das nicht, dass er ein fake ist. Könntest du ein Profil rchtig interpretieren, wüsstest du,dass er neun weitere Bewertungen hat.

      3. Da die Bewertzng eurer Seite mies ist, haben auch andere die schlecht bewertet, nur nicht kommentiert.

      4. Ich verzichte auf alle Glückwünsche von dir.

      5. Was ist am posten der eigenen Meinung Missbrauch?

      6. Vorletzte Absatz,letzter Satz:Ist das Selbstkritik?

      7.Die meisten kleinen Websites, die ich gesehen habe, waren korrekt bewertet. Aus meiner Sicht. Aus deiner vielleicht nicht. Aber so is das eben.

      8. Da du keine Hilfe oder Meinung haben wolltest, sondern dich nur beschweren und deine Meinung, die du wohl als die einzig richtige siehst, durchsetzen wolltest, betrachte ich das Thema als erledigt.

      9. Ich werde deine Seite im Bezug auf Verhalten des Eigentümers bewerten!!

    Danke, es war sehr interessant, Dich kennen gelernt zu haben.

    Auf Beleidigungen von Blueberry Mountain bin ich nicht mehr scharf. Zu den Anderen beiden Kommentatoren habe ich ja bereits Kontakt aufgenommen und hoffe, dass sie mir "den Stein des Anstoßes" bald mitteilen, damit ich Abhilfe schaffen kann. Eine Website mit tausenden Inhalten nur wegen einzelner Ausreißer abzustrafen, ohne jemals Kontakt aufgenommen zu haben, ist irgendwie ziemlich unfair.

      Neueste Entwicklung

      Hallo,

      ich möchte die WOT-Community betreffend unserer Anfrage um Kommentierung und Reputationen in diesem Thread auf dem Laufenden halten.

      Der Teilnehmer BillClint (unter anderem) hatte uns eine vernichtende Bewertung mit schlechtem Kommentar gegeben, weil ein Eintrag unseres über 11.000 Einträge umfassenden Webverzeichnisses seiner Auffassung nach betrügerisch ist.

      Es entstand nun ein kurzer Nachrichtenwechsel zwischen mir und BillClint. Leider hat sich dabei nur bestätigt, dass er gegen jemanden hetzt, ohne Belege für seine Vorwürfe anführen zu wollen/können. Dabei wird jeder nur entfernt beteiligten Site eine schlechte Bewertungen und Reputationen verpasst. Man erkennt es derzeit gut in seinem Profil.

      In meinem eigenen Profil habe ich BillClints Vorwürfen öffentlich geantwortet und meine/unsere Position über unfundierte Internet-Hetze und Internet-Zensur dargestellt. Dort wird hoffentlich deutlich, dass wir mit unserer Site einen liberalen, jedoch rechtlich verantwortungsvollen Kurs verfolgen. Websites, die pornografisch, betrügerisch oder anderweitig rechtlich bedenklich sind, lehnen wir grundsätzlich ab. Jedoch werden wir wegen eines roten Punktes bei WOT keine aktive Internet-Zensur ausüben.

      Auf anraten der WOT-Community wurden übrigens inzwischen die Datenschutz-Bedingungen auf unserer Site überarbeitet (verständlicher, deutlicher erkennbar) und zusätzliche Tag-Clouds (bessere Usability) eingeführt.

    Gentlemen, please don't take this too far.

    After exploring and checking reputations of quite a few linked sites I found beammachine.net content is safe enough and deserves to be rated green.

    If any of you find a bad apple, please do report it.
