Your Privacy Policy
I have read your Privacy Policy and I noticed a couple of points of concern. For instance, your cookies do not have an expiry dates, which could mean that they are persistent on a computer unless the user deletes the cookies, or has software such as CCleaner to do it for them, yet you do not give any reference to a Cookie Policy that complies with European Directives. I also noticed that your Whois places you in Europe (Portugal) but your Privacy Policy does not contain any reference to any Data Protection legislation, either European or National. Since the EU has Data Protection legislation that causes National laws, such as the UK Data Protection Act 1998, I assume that Portugal also has similar legislation which you ought to mention in your Privacy Policy.
You are right to comment that screensavers are often treated with caution, and with good reason. Generating an md5 checksum would be a good idea if the checksum is for clean (virus-free) software to start with, but only so that your "folks" can keep a check on the software to ensure that nothing untoward is added later by someone else.

Not looked at the site yet
I haven't looked at the site yet, so I really can't say anything substantive about it.
However, I would like to mention that you have my compliments for canvassing WOT about security improvements for the site. Good place to come for an evaluation. And good marketing strategy.
Clearly, as you mentioned yourself, this is going to be a "hard sell" considering the category of the site. If you pass on the WOT member recommendations to the site owner, you should have a better chance of marketing it. (Assuming of course the site owner takes the recommendations to heart). I think you are doing the "right" thing. Good luck!

screenspro.com
Hi folks. This app was developed by a client of mine. They are featured everywhere from smashing magazine to the official windows mag.
I thought I should pop in and have some folks take a look and rate it for us. As you can imagine this demographic is pretty hairy given all the virus laden apps and spam involved. I did not look too closely but about 99 percent of the sites that offer this sort of thing are flagged red repeatedly lol...
The app can be downloaded and comes with the matrix screensaver in hd if someone wants to take a look as well. Just keep in mind its HD. Sorta processor intensive on older machines.
Additional screensavers are purchased on the site.
http://www.screenspro.com/privacy-policy just for reference.
And, I have a question. Should I have these folks generate an md5 checksum perhaps. That occurs to me from time to time but seem to space it. To verify the apps integrity that is.
thanks much,
Nigel
