"Site owner holds a TRUSTe® Trusted Download Seal" TRUSTe, are you stupid and blinded?????? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- When you buy an official brand products, the manufacturer put in play you a dirty trick to scam you with viruses, adware, spyware, trojans, software bloat, crapwares, shovelwares, badwares, etc. etc. and the forced sale. After the computers with Windows preinstalled, and with preinstalled useless softwares and scandals of tattoos prohibiting install Linux, now there are these crapwares and those trojans! Remember that, in a capitalist world, companies become multinational in swallowing or destroying smaller companies, for their avarie without heart, kidnap your products and even your life to make you a slave. Time of products that belonged to us once bought and paid of our own money is gone, we are docile pigeons made to spend at all costs and buy permanently!

Contains a malicious SSL root certificate, which allows the software (and any malicious individuals who have reverse-engineered the root key) to compromise the security of SSL/TLS connections. Lenovo users should see ***** For more information on the software, please see ***** Please note that the WOT plugin interacts with search results, but it does so by interacting with the already loaded webpage, without intercepting any secure communications. Of course this does cause a slight delay between page loading and the display of the WOT ratings, but on a fast connection it is not an issue.

PUP for Chrome, hard to get rid of.

I got this super annoying file in Chrome. It's PUP, and it won't go away. It's a localstorage file called http_www.superfish.com_0.localstorage. You know what that means, right? It came from here.

I have nothing to add that other users haven't already said. Do not trust the "good site" rating this somehow gets here on WOT. This is an excellent example of why people should read the reviews, not just trust the rating. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the people who made this cr4p are giving fake reviews here and on extension/add-on rating sites. So be careful of what extentions/add-ons you enable on your browser. This one in particular seems to come with FVD products, so make sure not to install anything by them.

WOT is ridiculous! How can this site be rated that good concerning trust, when 90 % of all the comments are negative??? I have experienced unwanted advertising with superfish.com.

*updated at 2013, Oct 28 "Scroll to Top Button" add-on for Chrome has updated (v 6.2.8 , 2013 Oct 26) and added two options in configurations: >Product Search (powered by Superfish): on / OFF (default config: on) >Disable advertising: ON / off (default config: off). However, the developer has no any reply to users who complained (at Google Play, in "Comments" tab) about it. And default settings for ads options is not cool. As for my posting and ratings for this superfish.com, I KEEP these because there are reports of several other add-ons (for Chrome and Firefox browsers) with the same problem (SUPERFISH.COM "ad-scripts" embedded in these add-ons) and many of the users of these another add-ons even know the existence of superfish.com "ad-scripts" within them. My previous post (2013, Oct 26): This website has some kind of (obscure?) involvement / relationship with add-ons developers for web browsers - an add-on installed called "Scroll to Top Button" (I use the Chrome web browser) has a malicious script that does intrusive and annoying advertisements appearing on any webpages through "superfish.com" cookies and scripts. The developer of this add-on "Scroll to Top Button" didn't say anything about it until now (2013, Oct 26). See more complaints about this in Google Play for this add-on (go to "Comments", click the "Recent" button and select "All Languages" to see most recent comments): ***** ------------------------------------------------ *atualizado em 28 de outubro de 2013 O add-on "Scroll to Top Button" foi atualizado (v 6.2.8 - 26 de outubro de 2013) e agora possui mais duas opções de configuração: >Buscar por produto (via Superfish): ligado / DESLIGADO >Desabilitar propagandas: LIGADO / desligado.

This site is the source and destination of sneaky, illicit, virtually impossible to uninstall adware. Block *.superfish.com in WOT, AdBlock, NoScript/ScriptNo, and anywhere else you can.

Advertising website, adds links to other pages and looks like part of the site. Usually triggered by a browser extension.

Found a list of various browser plugins this bullshit is bundled with. Maybe someone sees a pattern here (using the same plugin). Surf Canyon, FastestFox, Conduit, Converter, Calculator, IETab Plus, Fox Lingo, FB-Timer, SmartSuggestor, Special Savings, Awesome ScreenShot, Similar Web And lastly, the shitty plugin that caused it for me: FVD Video Downloader. Those retards added the superfish bullshit in a recent update without user consent or any warning, and just now (after all the 1 star ratings rolling in in the chrome web store), they've added a little text blurb at the bottom of the plugin description. Pathetic. I've uninstalled the plugin completely. If the plugin devs pull off this sneaky scammy bullshit once, they'll do it again. Avoid. *****

Yet another tracking /advert site that uses a supposed tool (Visual Search) to spam you. ** Update ***** ** Now also part of the avert junk installed by a formerly ok Firefox add-on IE View.
