Is topica.com Safe?

Uh oh! This one was flagged by 3- really 4 if you take a close look at Google Safe Browsing diangnostic. http://www.urlvoid.com/scan/topica.com Dark red!

I received an email today at my WORK email address entitled "Update Your Profile" and it appeared to be from "myhealthelink@app.topica.com". First of all, I work at NASA and NASA has a pretty robust anti-spam protection program. Very little spam actually gets through to my email Inbox, however I'm pretty sure I just got scammed. The email said, "Update Your Profile We have received a request to update your profile information for the list "myHealth eLink." We have sent you this email in order protect your privacy and to ensure that it is you who want to see and update this information. To update your profile, please click on the link below. Yes. I want to update my profile If you did not make this request, you may safely ignore this email. If you have questions, please contact: tepsupport@topica.com." If it had been a Yahoo email (which I use at home), I would have been suspicious and read the email very carefully and likely wouldn't have clicked on it. If I had read it carefully, I would have seen the grammar error, "...email in order protect your privacy...", but I foolishly clicked on the link because I do actually have an account with my doctor's office that's called "Riverside Healthelink". When I clicked on it, it displayed my work email address and a button that said "Confirm" and I clicked the button. When a screen came up that said, "Thank You! Thank you for updating your profile!" at url http://www.topica.com/f/p.html, I knew I'd been scammed. Then I looked up topica.com at WOT, and that confirmed it. They tout themselves as a "Email Marketing Solution" company. UGH. The good news is that I can now mark their email to me at my work account as "Spam" and it will block anything else from being sent to my inbox, and I do have virus and spyware protection so I hope it didn't put any viruses, spyware, etc on my machine. I ordered several items from this site in November, 2012. The website was easy to use, my order was correctly filled, the service was amazingly fast for a company so far from where I live (about 4 days). The products I received were excellent. I haven't received spam or unwanted solicitations from this company. I don't know why the red circles started appearing. The site was green when I was searching. The red circles only appeared after I had submitted my order and was about to print it. I have been receiving a baking guide from The Prepared Pantry for about 4 weeks and there has been no trouble with that. Please do some more searching about this company because I would like to see the red circles removed. Thank you.

Liars. The only thing I've picked up was junk mail but that was from a different site. What I don't like though is how you can't get some of the freebies since they take them off and whatever. But... If you are only complaining cause of the unsubscribing problem, get a new email and forward the important stuff to your new e-mail address!
