Warning: Yahoo!/BT Yahoo! Browser

As some of you may know, Yahoo's British arm, BT Yahoo!, once had a free browser that it gave to all using its internet services. This browser was based heavily on IE5. This browser was not maintained, and has since sunk into obscurity.
BT Yahoo! is the most-used ISP in my area. As a result, many people in my area once used the browser. Until recently, I was under the belief that no one, apart from my brother, continued to use it. However, recently I have discovered some number of BT Yahoo! Browser users in my area. There is a possibility that others are using this incredibly unsafe IE5 clone.
With this topic, basically, I wish to warn the few BT Yahoo! Browser users amongst us not to use it. If you don't like Firefox or Opera, at least switch to IE9.

Some people don't want to let go of their browser. It's a comfort thing. Just like the now abandoned Netscape browser. I still find someone using it now and then.

No real need to use branded browser
su 27. syyskuuta 2009 15:47:05 — TonorYou could call me a BT Yahoo customer if you like as I use BT, but I don't use their browser. In fact, I've never used any ISP branded browser with the companies I used before switching to BT.
I just connect with the ISP without installing the software that comes loaded on a CD. (I still have three of these, but these are probably likely out of date.) There isn't any need to load these services since a browser is provided by default.
In the old days, I used IE a lot, up to and including version 6, and now occasionally use v8. My main browser of choice is Firefox.

I suspect it's like the "AOL Browser", which is essentially a bastardized version of IE.
