WOT 3.0 sneak preview!
Qua 19 Mar 2008 15:44:03 UTC — Deborah S.You spoke. We listened. You told us you wanted an improved scorecard that gives you the overall picture of a site's reputation, so we made it. You asked for a place to leave comments, so we added it in. You suggested that we include website categories for a more precise evaluation, so we provided it.
WOT 3.0 delivers the BIG picture:
- Detailed scorecard shows reasons behind ratings
- Comment area to share your opinions and experiences
- Read what other users have to say
- Streamlined rating window for quicker rating
New reputation scorecard and rating window
In the next few weeks, we will invite our most active WOT members to be the first to test drive our improved scorecard. This is an important period because we will be counting on you to give us feedback on the new look and functions.

Nice to know the sources
I really appreciate the list of sources and their contributed ratings at the bottom of the scorecard -- that goes a long way towards explaining the score of a website. Nice work!
There are a few things I had a little trouble figuring out, but here is my current understanding:
By the way, I'd like to see a way to remove an accidental rating, but that's a minor request.

Yes, the "tags" on the rating bars in scorecard mark the exact reputation in each component. Your comments appear in the scorecard and there's a link in the rating window that opens the scorecard for the current site.

Other software
There is alternate software to WOT. It is called Mcafee Site Advisor. It is better than WOT. It has a great scorecard like system. If you want to be better than the top dogs try and get the new WOT 3 out fast! (Other web site safety software already has what is to be included! )

Based on the pictures, it looks great! My only suggestion would be to have an option to change the language not only on the website but in the wot rating system window.

I mean I understand what you guys are going for and how much it helps, it just seems like WOT is getting alot of random stuff crammed into it these days compared to the beginning. Although I guess that's to compete with other services, ha even though I don't know why there would be competition between WOT and anyone, it's a community project that will move forward nonetheless and I don't see ads or a money-making aspect to WOT, well if there is I'd like to know how that works.

new stuff looks okay but I'm a minimalist and always stuck in the past :P

Im waiting for the official 3.0 release since everything seems to be running smoothly.. I value WOT wayyy more then Mcaffee Site Advisor... I have ditched the Site Advisor for WOT completly on all computers...

This release looks great and has lots of nice features that people have been requesting. It's nice to see a site like this where the webmaster takes user feedback into account.
I'm not sure if I'm in the top 500 but when this comes out I'm sure many people will find this very useful.

Thank you all for your positive remarks. I am glad you are excited with us about version 3 of WOT.
Timo and Sami are working endlessly to get the new scorecard ready, so we are now aiming for a beta release date of April 15. You all know how the best of plans can fail, but we will try our hardest to get it out on time. Check you inbox for a special invitation around next Tuesday, but meanwhile keep rating websites to increase your activity score!

This is so great! I couldn't believe I was in "most influential members for the beta team" because i haven't scavenged the web for all the sites I have been to in my life. I've just rated the sites when I get to them. Carpe diem.
