maxpcbooster.com

maxpcbooster.com. The site name itself shows that it's a fake site.
Scorecard here: link(click here)
I spotted it getting rated by sockpuppets.
Aha! Busted(:
It needs red, before it turns green by sockpuppets.
edit:
Taking a look at the sockpuppet comments page, I have found a small ring of sockpuppets spam-commenting on WOT :\
It'll take a long while to find them all.
Hold on to this thread for furthur details.
PS:
I found these users who are suspiciously similar to sockpuppets. May anyone help sort them out? I'm sure there are more.

Rated

Took a look at them all, and rated red and agreed to red comments and DISAGREED with sockpuppet green comments. It makes me furious when sockpuppets try to manipulate WOT ratings.

BTW, while I was agreeing and disagreeing with comments, it occurred to me that since a lot of people erroneously read comments as ratings, they might be inclined to rate these things green, not realizing that the little "+" and "-" symbols beside the comments reflect "agree" and "disagree".

This is probably dealt with in the Wiki (haven't looked) and somewhere on the blog or instructions, but it likely is a pretty obscure and buried fact. So, is there any way you WOT guys could make this a more prominent fact?

Yes, we plan to make this more obvious in future.

I found around 20 sockpuppets. I didn't post them all though..

where tto go

I now became a newbe, my kids officialy know more then me, where can I go to safely speed up my comp. Thanks Justus1933@aol.com, I'll check post often

More memory

@justus1933,

Most of these advertised "speed up your computer" things are scams, like "FinallyFast.com" (which has made enough money scamming so that they can pay for those nauseating commercials all over the airwaves). I would highly recommend that you NOT buy into any of the numerous scams that will show up on a Google search, especially those "Sponsored" links.

Indeed, WOT will likely show a lot of red donuts on those things.

The best way to speed up your computer is not with software, but rather with hardware: MORE MEMORY.

(This isn't relative to your question, but a comment on something else in your post.

I noticed that you left your email address in your post.

THAT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO DO THAT WITHOUT DISGUISING IT (tehcnobabble for that is "munging" - "Mash Until No Good").

Let me be more specific. For example, my email address is "rbjamie AT gmail DOT com". NOTICE that I disguised it by typing out "AT" and "DOT", instead of using the "@" symbol and the "." symbol in the domain name (gmail.com).

That's because spammers have what they call "harvesters". "Harvesters" are programs that scan the Internet for email addresses left on posts like YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS and they specifically look for the "@" symbol followed by domain names.

Consequently, your email address was likely added to a spammers list. If it's currently "uncontaminated", then you will likely be getting some spam soon. If it's already contaminated and you get spam in it, then you will likely get MORE spam.

In the future, if you choose to leave your email address on the Internet, disguise it thus:

    Justus1933 AT aol DOT com

And one more thing . . . on this board they discourage giving answers via email because answering in a post gives the entire community the benefit of reading the answer.

    Please don't take my tone as abrasive - just a friendly tip . . . )

What

Bobjam said. Also, please DON'T post your email! Unless that's a junk one of course. :D (Spambots...)

Ah, I see bobjam edited his post to express my concern. In a much more detailed fashion as well!
