For the first time, About.com's Computing Channel is having a Reader's Choice Awards which honors the best browsers and browser-related software. During January, thousands of nominations were submitted by readers in a wide variety of categories including Best Privacy/Security add-on. WOT safe browsing tool has qualified as a finalist!
Throughout the month of February, About.com readers will vote for a winner in each category. The categories are: Best Browser Theme, Best Independent Browser, Best Major Desktop Browser, Best Mobile Browser, Best Overall Add-On (Non-Security), Best Privacy/Security Add-On and Best User Script. Winners will be announced March 1.
Please cast your ballot for WOT in the Best Privacy/Security Add-On category and help us to win. As of today, we are trailing NoScript by a mile, so we need your vote. Thanks everybody!

I can't find anything on the about.com pages about when the voting closes and when the award will be made.
Last I checked WOT was down to 19%, and NoScript was wayyyy ahead. NoScript is good, but I would have thought that with this community being "mobilized" the WOT votes would overwhelm NoScript. As far as I know there is no "organized" NoScript community like this one, but NoScript is pretty popular and likely better known than WOT.
Next year? Maybe WOT will be more widely known by then. Deb, you have your work cut out!

It looks to me like a major
It looks to me like a major spamming exercise on the part of NoScript, either that or it's more popular, it doesn't mean it's better. The best thing is that WOT is in 2nd place, and the other options have practically no votes at all.

WOT is still new in this field, but for sure this is a great tool! If majority of us start rating all websites we visit on the web, WOT would definitely help everyone!
I didn't understand on what basis they're doing that voting by the way, because NoScript is a different tool!

I wish WOT the best of luck although I question comparing it to the others in the list as (mentioned by preious poster) they are all doing different tasks. Would have preferred to see it compared against the like of CallingID.com and other link checkers.

Congratulations to NoScript
We gave it the good ol' college try, but the 2010 About.com Reader's Choice award for "Best Privacy/Security Add-On" went to NoScript. WOT came in a respectable second place with 30% of the votes.
