re:What is there to stop a business competitor from m
Please read this post, I believe it answers your question:
http://www.mywot.com/en/wot/blog/2007/3/31/
In short: If you disagree with a reputation, testify. If you believe the reputation is being manipulated, contact us.

Wtf
Assuming that a competitor "made you dangerous" is crazy. Curtis, you just sent me an email threatening www.groomingtrailers.com - saying you are "playing a game" and assuming they are doing something TO you.
They are showing their good WOT report, you may have a probloem with that, but you should wonder why yours is red and stop threatening me, gt and WOT. Gonna sue every web user out there because you don't like what you see?
Maybe THIS is why you're red.
Probably your history and reputation of acting in this way is what did it.
You sent your nutty email to me! not GT. I don't even work for him anymore!

Nice Curtis.

re:What is there to stop a business competitor from m
I think that's enough.
WOT was created to help people, it is not your personal battle zone. I don't think any of your potential customers reading this would find either of you trustworthy.
We take manipulation attempts seriously. You can be assured that we will review testimonies for each website in question and will take action to stop anyone from manipulating their reputations.
If you have any further concerns, please let us know.

re:What is there to stop a business competitor from m
Threatening us makes no difference, the reputations are set by our users.
If we find a user manipulating the system, the system will start ignoring her opinions, including the previous opinions. This will result in the reputations changing.
When new users share their opinions, the reputations will change again.

re:What is there to stop a business competitor from m
Well, we are in the process of reviewing the websites. Therefore, it shouldn't really come as a surprise if we visit your site.
As I said, reputations are set by our users. Once the WOT system starts ignoring those who are manipulating the system, the "real results" are what remain. However, not all users are considered equally trustworthy:
http://www.mywot.com/en/wot/blog/2006/9/6/
But if you disagree with a reputation, please testify. If you try to play the system, you will be ignored.

What is there to stop a business competitor from m
What is there to stop a business competitor from making you "Dangerous"?
It is happening so I think the credibility of WOT itself will fall to "dangerous" if allowed to continue.
Note http://www.harivac.com been in business for 12 years and has a very strong reputation in the indusrty it serves but comes up "RED"
A competitor starts marketing his "Green" WOT and showing searches with competitors site in the "RED".
This site has not been up long enough for the served industry to be posting here yet..
Look for yourself and explain how you can keep this from happening? WOT will not survive or catch on if people start shooting each other with WOTs.
Compare: www.groomingtrailers.com to www.groomingtrailer.com or hairvac.com
So WOT do I do and what does any other company do when this happens?
