This is actually one of the better forums on the 'net. It has expressive, humorous smileys, dedicated, understanding moderators who do their jobs properly while still remaining forumites (so they can tell inappropriate spam from inside jokes) and while there are a few not-so-nice sections, it's balanced out with the more friendly sections (such as the fanclubs), which have good, intelligent people. You *can* actually have a conversation with intellectuals in some places on the forum, and I've had a number of them. Don't expect to change any minds, though - most people are set in their ways and beliefs when they start to argue here. There are many different sections with a variety of content, including debate, fanclubs, art, news discussion, general anime, and of course its original purpose, discussion of the anime Naruto. These sections can be very useful - there are times when I log on just to ask a knowledgeable user a question through PM, and I can get an answer far quicker than a long, tedious Google search. The forum's rules are clear-cut and strictly enforced in all sections of the forum, and there are some handy features for contacting users. There is an image limit of 10 per post (including smileys) which is good for users with slower connections and staves off image spamming. One handy feature is the spoiler button, which hides whatever content in it until one clicks the button, so that massive pictures or essays won't be stretching the page around until we click them, and when we're done, we can close them again. While there is a section for adult content, anyone who wishes to be able to view it must have a minimum post count of 100 (fanclub posts don't count) and be reviewed and approved by human beings - the user's posts are reviewed, as well as their join date, birthdate, general demeanor and maturity, and the ability to be civil. For instance, if someone sends a request in all caps saying, "LIKE, LOL, CAN I JOIN TEH ADULTZ SECTION?" they'll just be ignored, because such a request is obviously typed by a naughty child or teenager. Great care is taken before approving new users, and if someone is found to have cleverly beaten the system and is underage, the account will be banned. It is true that the owner of the parent website (narutofan.com) has been guilty of fraud by having people pay to view content that was supposed to be available for free, this time has passed. Despite the negative publicity of the parent site though, these forums are an excellent place to spend a lot of time at, but be warned that sometimes you'll need thick skin. But then, that applies to any forum.
