If a website includes a large number of like buttons from Facebook, Twitter, etc., the add-on can slow down page loading and scrolling. The buttons communicate with other websites using frames, and loading the front page of an active blog, for example, can create hundreds of frames as a result. For extensions like WOT that need to inspect all frames, Chrome injects their code in each frame, which consumes lots of CPU and slows down the page.
You can solve the problem by installing the Disconnect extension from Chrome Web Store. This extension disables the like buttons and stops them from slowing down your browser.
