Child porn - where to report it..?

I rarely rate in the 'adult' category, so I don't know much about where to report this or that. I remember cp being mentioned somewhere in the past, but now the forum has almost 1000 topics and more than 6000 posts - so perhaps the relevant information could be accumulated here..?

The reason for this topic is the spam mail I just received:

    "Hello, webmaster!

We represent affilate program eropays.com, that is very famous in russian internet. We record and sell exclusive porn videos, that you can't find anywhere. If you are interested in getting good money, by adverting our sites, please contact us. Also if you want get extra cash and u have 10-16 years old children, we have special offer for you.

We accept payments from clients via credit cards and Cellphone Short Message Service, we pay to you up to 85% from transactions. Check our best web-site young-video.ws, only here users can find best young children porn vids! And look damn best real rapes in member part on pokazporno.com !!!

That's the secret why u can gain from 1000 unique visitors up to 150$ !!!
Just install our ads and start earning cash!"

    The 3 sites involved here are: eropays.com + young-video.ws + pokazporno.com

Spam is usually obnoxious, but sometimes also disgusting, as in this mail
where you'll find phrases like "10-16 years old children" and "best real rapes".

Looks like such sites should not only be rated but also reported. But where..?

Below is the information accumulated from the ongoing discussion:

    Warning

MysteryFCM: "If you come across such sites, or are made aware of sites that *may* contain CP, DO NOT load them, under ANY circumstances. Instead they should be reported to appropriate authorities. Knowingly accessing such sites, even if the intentions are simply to confirm it does actually contain CP, is illegal in the vast majority of countries. As such, by doing so, you are opening yourself up to investigation by the authorities and the very real possibility of prosecution (again, doing so for investigation purposes is NOT an excuse that the authorities will allow you to use). Report it via the links above, and let the authorities confirm whether or not the site contains such content."

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Link suggestion

Since this thread is focused on how and where to report cp, I suggest that links are divided in two groups: 1) Links that takes you straight to 'report this...'. and 2) Links that leads to an introduction, general overview, statistics etc...

Both kinds of links would be nice to have,
but let's mention direct links first,
    general links thereafter...

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The wiki entry has now been created; please edit or add if you know more:

Location: Copenhagen, Denmark, Scandinavia, Europe. Languages: Danish, English (and a bit Norwegian and Swedish).

    Bad one

That is disgusting, whatever you do don't go anywhere near those sites.
Reporting is usually through the following:
    UK:
    http://iwf.org.uk
    US:
    https://secure.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet...
    International:

    Child Porn

I agree, there is a topic on this subject I started at the foot of this page with same title.I really think there should be official WOT guidelines when dealing with these sicko's.(G.O.M.with Honours).

      Child Porn guidelines

"official WOT guidelines" plus "where to report it" could be included in the wiki too.
I'll accumulate info from responses in the first (and main) post. and when there's enough material then create a corresponding wiki entry...

        Good idea

I'll work up one too, and maybe we can combined them in one :)

We rate the websites, the WOT staff creates, and advertises the add-on, and together, we make it all happen.

          General and specific

My first reaction was asking: why have two wiki entries on the same topic? Then, I woke up a bit more, and realized that I had made a similar suggestion only minutes before. Yes, two entries could make sense: The first could be an introducton, offering a general overview. The second could show 'how do I report this now...

Btw, I've added a warning and a suggestion to the threads summary...

    Horrible

That's absolutely disgusting. It's even worse to think that someone is sending that to hundreds, maybe thousands of people.

Try not to display images in whatever emails you receive, or click links unless you're sure they're safe. And don't signup anywhere unless you're sure they're safe, or if you have two emails, like Bobjam suggested. One for newsletters, and other accounts you sign up for, and one personal email.

I follow these steps and in the year I've had my current email address (I changed to Gmail) I've gotten four messages of spam :)

We rate the websites, the WOT staff creates, and advertises the add-on, and together, we make it all happen.

WHY IS THE WORLD LIKE THIS!
    please, please, stop it!

the most indignating part was: if you have 10-16 years old children...
    i was like: omg...
we all must help to make the internet a safer place, and not the bull**** it is right now.

Well that's new and distrubing information!

They actually pay people to do this evil crap. Well, as unpredictable and sick as that is; it makes sense, makes me worried and makes me sick. The part that worries me the most is that now they'll be getting people who were never interested in CP into the business of producing it for the money and that is really bad news. I hope the feds find all of the consumers of this vile crap. If there is no demand, there is no supply.

But I visited some pages to report at WOT and to see if they really contain CP.
I was only on the main page for a few seconds (of course without downloads or something) - I don't wanted give a false report to WOT.
Now I'am a little bit afraid.

      I had that

      I had that thought...
Although I did not visit their site, they did not hide what they do on the score card.
But I would recommended a good disc wipe.
Glary Utilities works fine for most.
We use a shredder and wipe program daily due to sensitive and embargoed materiel I receive after burning to disc, just in case comps ever gets compromised.
That is out of respect for those agencies we work with.
      Heidi

as far as ISP logs... well they wouldn't search you unless they had a reason to... Fear not.

Unless you also wipe the MFT to DoD standard, and wipe the drive to same, then just wiping the drive isn't going to get rid of evidence - it can still be recovered using a variety of methods.
