RE: Which browser do you prefer to use when doing online banking

I just used WOT search, and I got there without a problem ...................... sweet!

I changed my vote as I had FF as my first choice, but I use W I am in Google rehab

    I miss the super-fast search and I would love to have that in WoT, but I respect the decision of no auto complete:{

I'm using Opera since version 9.50, because I value the browser for the safety, comfort and speed.

In my opinion, I think chrome is the best, it is faster then others and safer.

I am forced to use IE. My bank cookies do not hold in Firefox.

    Satch

  6. I absolutely do not trust online banking and will never use anything for it. I do not trust too many banks with their security since even the PIN and chip system has been hacked. I also never let my card go out of my sight in any establishment even though I am using a PIN and chip card.

Do you trust your bank? Because most save everything on computer systems using software from the last decade. On a virtual machine, using a well configured browser (latest version of course) with a proxy you can be pretty sure that you're safe. I think the chance could even be higher to get robbed at the bank terminal than to get hacked on such a system.

Whichever I'm using at that moment, which is usually Firefox but sometimes Chrome.

I think speed is not a good argument for online banking.

I use chrome to wot ONLY because of sandboxing so if I accedently visit a malicious site I can just exit out without exiting the whole site but for banking and anthing else I use firefox.

Tip: Give Trusteer's Rapport a try.

So you are peddling Trusteer!?? I don't think I can consider such a dubious product.
Based upon what I have read, there is also a concern with hardware security on computers that are built with a OEM Windows configuration nowadays. My bank's ATMs that are available around me are sufficiently secure since they do not use physical keypads (nothing to hack) and there is no way for someone to record my input.

I do not trust my bank online because it is hosted by well-known source of spam and online security in South Korea is a joke since it is configured around Windows and active-x measures. This also means that I can not use my OSX machine to do online banking here since the OS is not supported by the bank.

I use Firefox on my transactions so I can run noscript. As for banking, I never do that online since I have had my accounts accessed without my authorization at least once.

In Poland, a trick often used the so-called overlay.

Tell your bank to get moving and spend your money on a working website, then. They're already spending it, right?

and the idiot banks might use their own domain for the initial transaction or card payment - then forward you without warning to a domain NOT yet authorised in your noscript whitelist, nor rated in WOT, for payment authorisation purposes. Thus possibly not fulfilling the transaction or worse, making it happen twice or more...

I use Firefox mostly, but on occasion Chrome for Mobile. My bank those have some protections against redirecting websites but I manually check that out before entering my password.

I use Safari. But I'm a noob. I don't think I will use chrome simply because all of my data will be collected and be the property of google with out my name or bank account numbers being used. I don't like that.

RE: Which browser do you prefer to use when doing online banking

I use FF mounted in a virtual Unix machine all linked up in a nice OpenVPN using 2048-bit RSA and 128-bit Blowfish encryption. Add to that 2 part authentication via randomly generated pin I think I am about as safe as possible. I am sure some naughty hack could make catch all that out, but it would have to be pretty determined work.Nothing is ever 100% I guess?

If you're that worried about using Google products, you can consider using SRWare Iron instead, which is built directly from the Chromium source code without Google modifications.
