I usually use the Firefox addon, but the search on https://www.mywot.com is very handy if I am on a computer or virtual machine without it installed.

If I am going onto a website that seems fishy, I check the WOT website. Just because WOT redirects you and/or warns you about the site in question's bad reputation, It won't allways protect. (main reason: drive-by downloads).

Hey. I just registered today. I participated in you poll. I chose: From the scorecard of a website. I am not familiar with those other options except when using AVAST security, it offers a toolbar extension to rate website quality. I do not use it, though. I thought it was just one more thing to slow down the browser. I rely on your scorecard. Thank you.
    Karen.

RE: How do you usually check the reputation of a website?

Usually use the Firefox plug-in toolbar button. Unfortunately, many mass entered ratings and comments often slew the accuracy of infrequently visited (hence rated) sites.

I visit and check every site I rate and comment on.

RE: How do you usually check the reputation of a website?

Mostly the bad design is already an indication of a bad site. But that is not always true, so that I pay attention on the toolbar then.

В первую очередь всегда ориентируюсь на цвет бублика. Правда, к сожалению, не во всех случаев цвет отражает реальную характеристику сайта. Увы, но манипуляции оценками возможны.

RE: How do you usually check the reputation of a website?

When a browsed page fails to perform as I expected, from the NoScript disclosure list of (unexplained & mostly unhelpful) 3rd party domains scripts. There, I use scroll-click to open the NS reputation tools (including WoT), and their domain assessments.

. 'No Reputation' is not a 'Good Reputation'! . Honorable is not necessarily competent; incompetent is not safe (some "Trustworthy" organizations have careless, lazy, or untrustworthy site coders. . Unpleasant, even offensive, might still be safe.

I have not seen any f/p when it comes to malware or viruses, but outdated rates, the greatest problem for me is in the few sites not ranked so far, as I visit through Google portals other countries, in particular Spain and Venezuela, sometimes I rate the websites, but my time is restricted to the degree that I have to leave the rating in order to get where I wanted to go
Take Brazil for instance, I made a purchase of some rare irises for my collection a few days ago, while browsing the local sites, I became more cognizant of this problem I feel at instances the stress of not having more members' rating local sites from other countries and in my opinion, language is no a major problem
And in a situation like that, WOT is not useful for checking any reputation, so I like to invite whoever is willing to rate some sites from another country, in particular if they have some similarity with their home country, to do so
    edit -
I like to add that maybe "other" could have been a better alternative, at least for me
Before I arrived to a final choice of finding the reputation of a site, I deleted three previous one

Checking reputation is not the same as viewing reputation.
If I use a search engine I can view the reputation from the search results.
If a domain is evaluated within these forums, I can see the link and if reputation is poor the link is not live, otherwise a pop-up to the scorecard is offered.

If I am curious and want to see why the reputation is at it's current state, I open the scorecard.
Usually I investigate the scorecard first within Firefox's search engine box using this

Thanks for this comment. I'm pretty new to WOT and have mostly been using my Chrome add-on to rate. And while Chrome is the browser I use most, I do love Mozilla and will be checking out the Plugin you linked to. Thanks again.

I use scoreboard to put a comment in addition of a reputation mark. The add-on is also very convenient.
