    WOT IS GETTING INSANE...

I'm sorry, but if you cannot fix a small problem (no updates in activity score:, in my ratings, it will NOT motivate anybody.
I will quit WOT and start a campain against WOT and his own useless philosophy, where any bad people can go and pull down a good well established company. I have no clue who the hell is believing this. BTW, WOT is not what it was. Now it's a big mess. EVERYBODY can vote against their competitor companies, break them down, though they are probably as good as them.
But WOT lost it's trust, I have found much better solutions for safe browsing.
And... if you search in Google for "WOT" you will get World of Tanks... you derserve it. Honestly.

RE: What motivates you to rate websites with WOT?

HOPE, that eventually (nowadays takes REALLY a LOT of time, that the "bad apples" are thrown out of the basket and ONLY quality ones remain) a website will receive a rating it truly deserves. Lately I get the impression, that things aren't as they used to be (years ago, when I started), namely websites rated exactly the opposite way they should be rated (not my opinion, but just according to the common sense).

Not so long ago I expressed my concern over a part of this problem. Namely, sites (and not only some small ones, which are not visited by a lot of people) trustworthy by objective merits rated orange or worse.

If the situation would be "normal" as it once was (as I remember), then in maximum of a couple of months the TRUE picture emerged, because enough people voted without any personal bias, and sites got the rating they deserved. And I'm not talking about more trivial tags as for example "Politics, religion, opinions" but the important ones: "Is a site trustworthy or not and nothing else."

On purpose I picked a site for which I know for sure that it is trustworthy (and I'm not talking about details, for me this means rating that can range from light to dark green - so, quite a large span). In more than half of a year its rating has not changed and is still orange colored.

I made an inquiry why? Nothing. My comment was first deleted and then down voted.

I can just HOPE, that this is an exception, otherwise WOT will eventually do more harm than good.

Helping others - is really cool idea. For young peoples - it hardly to know is the site dangerous or is it OK!

RE: What motivates you to rate websites with WOT?

Please update my activity score. I supopse the only altruistic thing that I do for the site is rate very bad sites negatively. For example, there is a fake jailbreak site and for some reason, Google presents the mobile friendly scams as the top three results. This wasted a significant amount of my time and it installed profiles, then continually asked me for money, but never effectively jailbreaked anything. Its unbelievable that search engines put horrible scams as the top results. Normally, Google delivers top quality, but trusting them in these cases is dangerous. I use WOT for myself to read the reviews, the other reviews on these websites said that it was a scam and I made the same comment.

WOT is most useful to me for identifying phising-scam websites that pretend to be legitimate.

Finally, please update my score. I continue to rate sites, but there is no change in my status. It makes me feel as if my efforts are without reward. Thank you.

They did give me an update, but it only occurred after several months. It's very frustrating and I hope that they fix it.

I am new to the site so at the moment but it does motivates me to start if these type of real websites help stop criminals from gaining our personal information. Hopefully, this helps law enforcement catch those bastards and place them where they belong.

I agree, hopefully, one day we can use these types of companies to build a new type of scoring system. My partners and I eagerly capture data from these companies and hope to start putting them on WOT!

This website is really amazing. Just noticed the API - wow I'm going to be up later than I thought.

I rely on the WOT icon in search results, and its a way to "give back" and contribute to the growing database of ratings.

RE: What motivates you to rate websites with WOT?

It is a nice way to make sure the site is not a total scam! It can really help, specially for online shopping! Sharing experience for a site, that has restricted its comment section can help a lot of people from doing the mistake and giving private info to some scammers.
The sad thing is that if something(article, study, conspiracy, etc.) is against the interest of a huge company or even government, lots of people with new/fake profiles (maybe even one person) can easily write comments of the same type, misleading people. However, such things can be easily spotted. Most important is to keep an open mind!

The rating of the website DOES NOT guarantee that a website is safe. You should read the scorecard comments and check with other tools in case the rating is wrong.

    RE: what is coinhive

I have just recently been getting a pop up in some language that isn't English and can't seem to remove it.
Several days ago it just popped up and I have to click on one of their banners to be able to see the site I want to see.
WOT needs to come up with a way to block this. PLEASE

Good Evening! I liked this comment. Sorry for my English. I am not an Englishman. But I understand some text in English. The words of truth help to protect children and naïve good people from danger. So criminals are. It is danger to loose lives, time, health, peace and money because of criminals. It is good to say truth others about the World.
