Good Site :) Go for it. Secure enough
I used to feature it but further research showed some of it's policies weren't all they were cracked up to be. At that point I dropped it- but would still have given it at least a light-green rating- possibly fully green. However, I have just seen XSS to it on way too many dogdy or worse sites.
Safe website. Search engine which claims to be the "the spam free search engine".
"Spam Free: blekko includes results from sites whose primary purpose is information, not monetization. Sites created solely to game search engines are not included in our results."
there is some personal security here. I do think that they have put some effort in to it and anything other than google is a good thing. My ratings are a little tougher than others. As far as child safety: when adults have more choice and access child safety is ALWAYS an issue. PLEASE KEEP CHILDREN THAT ARE TOO YOUNG FOR THE INTERNET AWAY FROM IT!! And the street is also NOT a playground...
Blekko is a search engine that bases results on human input (not unlike WOT). Where as many websites exist primarily to monetize online ad revenue, Blekko discounts those sites from Search results, providing better quality results to the search user. Blekko also provides a 'Slash' option that filters results through a list of human vetted websites -- that is, sites that have been listed by a community of Blekko editors. With incorporating human review, Blekko avoids becoming flooded by low-quality sites that have 'gamed' the search results.
Ot has insinuated itself on my computer and apears on other search engines that I look up indicating it has the exact answer to what I am looking for, When I click on that item it takes me to its search engine and the ommediate answers found on its site are far from the question I am trying to search answers for.
Illegal and dangerous
A great search engine dedicated to removing spam from the internet. While it has a harsh approach (removing content farms like Associated Content and E-How) it also has a very unique ability: slash the web. It is really fun to see how the results of your current search change as your type a new slash-tag (such as /entertainment or /tech) at the end of your current search.
