The site is very informational. It offers easy to read tutorials for basic security threats. The ads and links are not intrusive or misleading. The content is CURRENT and well organized. The search optimization is well done and ethical. There are no downloads DIRECTLY available on the site that I could find – they are all links to other websites (Malwarebytes). But hey, the guy can’t work for free. DITTO to Muscogulus (Jan 25, 2018) Except IMO the "undisclosed" relationship with Malwarebytes is a NON-issue. It is clear that he is advertising with malwarebytes and his affiliate number is in all links. It is a perfectly legit way to offset the expense of developing, updating, and maintaining a free informational / tutorial website. It's pretty obvious that someone with a lot of time on their hands doesn't like the site or site owner. I can clearly see links to the free version of Malwarebytes. I didn’t find any of the information that other negative comments refer to. I am a senior web developer and looked at his code – there is absolutely nothing there to indicate the site is using any unethical tactics or grey/blackhat marketing. The site is using up-to-date software and is very transparent. There are no pop-ups or even aggressive marketing tactics deployed on the site. There are some mixed content warnings coming from an old shortcut icon link and some advertising but nothing even close to unethical or dangerous. All of the recent articles are relating to things I have seen myself RECENTLY and have had clients email me about and, without having read them all, they do not appear to be opinion based. This site is providing a very good service and is doing so without charging or compromising users’ information beyond the probable collection of non-identifying data via cookies that every site uses. WOT is not doing their job here and is doing a DISSERVICE to this company and to online users who may use the WOT service or who need help protecting themselves from the real unethical people in this situation. They are allowing this site to be negatively impacted by the very people they are supposed to be protecting us from. IMO this site should be manually reviewed by WOT. I had to go through three pages of bashing to see any accurate or recent comments. I do not have any knowledge of who owns botcrawl.com nor any ties to the company. I just saw some blatantly obnoxious and false reviews from people taking advantage of an apparently unmonitored automated platform (WOT) and thought this was the right thing to do.

This is an informative website that appears to be single-handedly written by an opinionated author who sometimes makes intemperate remarks while erring on the side of caution about the safety of free software. He also edits out hostile comments about his articles. Furthermore, he appears to have an undisclosed referral relationship with Malwarebytes (antivirus software) and Piriform (maker of the CCleaner utility). These apps are perfectly adequate and safe, but there are other apps that can do the same job. For all these reasons, Botcrawl has attracted a horde of angry nerds who resent the site and want to see it fail. I believe this explains most of the low WOT ratings. As even the critics admit, there is no evidence of fraud, scams, or malware here. Take the site's advice for what it's worth; IOW, don't treat this site as gospel. But if you also prefer to err on the side of caution when it comes to computer security, then you might find this site frequently helpful.

This site provides instructions on how to get rid of EasyPDFCombine which is a browser addon people seem to find installed, without knowing from whence it came. I can only imagine why this site gets bad reviews. From what I understand, the software could have an effect towards makign it legit in itself. I wouldn't know. I never tried it. What I do know, is that with it installed, it hijacks your HOME screen, and it tries to open a series of websites everytime you start your browser. ESET Antivirus goes haywire everytime I tried starting the browser, with blocked websites. A run with Malwarebytes did the trick for me.

BotCrawl / Sean Doyle posts libelous and fictitious information about products in order to promote his own affiliate relationships. Highly deceptive and unethical. YUCK!

This comment is entirely false and seems to be created by someone who sees themselves as a competitor.
This site slanders us everywhere, perhaps because we involve in a kind of competition with them. The same comments and words on different forums really confuse us. When we try to contact the site owner on their forum, they banned our IP. However, the slanderous words on various communities and forums seemed to be endless. They also tampered the Wikipedia articles of competitors and added the link of their sites. In my opinion, their actions are improper.

This comment is entirely false. My website has never hosted downloadable content and has never had any issues with malware or viruses. This comment is likely left by a competitor. http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?site=botcrawl.com
This person has misleading comments concerning the Torch Browser he is confusing it with[ Topic Torch toolbar ]a different product Torch Browser is safe if used correctly just like any other Browser it does not contain spyware or malware , if you use Torrents then you can have a problem with any Browser, it comes up clean with SuperAntispware and malwarebytes even when you enable search for PUP , and PUM in scan settings, also EST online Torch comes up clean also Trend-Micro the list goes on including Bit-Defender I now see that he has removed my comments i left on his site and banned my IP why because he knows the advice he gives is wrong he replaced my comments with a comment from someone called Elizabeth stating the Torch browser is bad, I left this comment by using a proxy he will remove it people should not take advice from this person this is the comment i left on his site below I see you have removed my comments Torch browser contains no spyware ect ,your ego is bigger than your knowledge , you should not be trying to get people to remove legit software , you are wrong you talk a load of crap ,scan with malwarebytes or superantispyware and EST Hijack-this no problems found the problem is you your WOT reputation is bad because your advice is wrong, you are confusing the Torch browser with the Topic Torch Toolbar. Topic Torch toolbar different software different company now you can remove this and you can post as Elizabeth to make yourself look good but you know as I do you are only out to promote yourself with bad advice. I used a proxy to re access his site to put the comment in it will be removed ,he is not to be Trusted on advice concerning the Torch browser.

Claims trustworthy products as being malicious. Uses scare tactics, causing FUD. While the site appears to be free of malicious items at the point of writing, avoid all 'advice' provided!

Good website for removing malware, viruses, and reading about scams.

I found this website listed on AboutUs, a trustworthy site. Upon navigating to the site, I was puzzled that none of the links warning of various viruses linked to other sources e.g. Symantec, Sucuri, FBI, Microsoft virus databases, as is customary with anti-malware sites, but instead were all internal links to botcrawl itself. I also noticed that the links to MalwareBytes, an excellent tool, all included affiliate tags to the paid version, not the free version, which is atypical for a legitimate security website. There is always a link to the free version of MalwareBytes. No other problems experienced based on my first-hand experience.

This comment is out of context. If you can please provide links to similar websites that provide third-party updates by Sucuri, etc. as to validate what you are saying. My website is affiliated with Malwarebytes, if Malwarebytes or another program can detect what I write about I will list them as a solution along with manual removal instructions. This person has previously sent me an email stating that they are from AboutUs and Wikipedia.
